well, the weather has been really nice lately, and i was able to put about 3/5 a gallon through the mamba already..

im VERY VERY pleased!

its like a slingshot, running a 14t cb, and temping at 220 max. perfect idle, everything is perfect...

also, when it cools off, the pinch is still like metal on metal

using a heatgun till i get through a gallon.

rediculous, definitely the finest mill ive owned

heres a video for you!

Congrats on your choice of motor

Take your time with running in engine and dont worry too much about pinch its runs like that for a while.
Im still going strong with close to 70 liters on my Axe Black Magic's piston and sleeve.
Have changed a rod once and bearings 3 times and still going strong.
Old faithfull is now running in my Truggy.

Mamba is definately a bargain buy for the quality and performance you get.

wait a second, razzor, you are claiming to have almost 18 gals through your black magic, how is that possible!?!?! i know with new bearings and connecting rod, it helps, but DAMN, i had no idea the p/s could last THAT long!

awesome, is that black magic IDENTICAL to the mamba, pretty much?

most guys dont believe me and some its impossible but its the honest truth.
Its still runs hard.
Ive used it for clube races from September 2005 till May 2006 when the track we ran at closed.Ive used at for bashing in teh parking lots with freinds.Ive used it for the African Cup in 2005/6 and the 4/5 national series races.
I started using a Cobra for the last national event last year and the first event of the new year.
The Black Magic is now in my Caster K8T truggy and is running well in it.
I rebuilt the motor a month ago and changed the rod although it didnt have a lot of play but thought after the amount of fuel ive put through it I should.
Measured crank pin and its still good and not oval.Ive changed bearings 3 times and one head button.
Rebuilt carb twice and thats about it .

I had/have a STS D21B and a STS D21T that was in my RTR buggy and they lasted about 15 liters on the B and just under 25 liters on the T.
The T being very impressive and awesome top end but mediocre on teh bottom compared to the Black Magic.
My Cobra is going well too and after about 12 liters is still tight and only starting to really loosen up.
have a Mamba too but my M1-b is waiting for spares to get it running.
Also have a Innotech Collari XS400 which is practically the same as the black Magic with exception of the head and its seen only a liter or two in the M1-B.

Maybe my Black Magic is a freak engine but i swear by AxeMotorRossi engines.

Forgot to mention the Cobra and Mamba is the new generation Axe engines and completely different to the older Black Magic and LSK.

from what ive read on axes site, the mamba has the same bore and stroke as the BM, only difference is the carb, and crankshaft. supposedly the p/s can be used in both.

also, the collari innotech xs600 is identical to the axe mamba...maybe a differnt carb, but thats it.

How would you compare the top end on the sts d21t to the top end on the mamba?

i have 5 people at my track, AND ALL FIVE OF THEM RUN STS D21ts, one just bought a d21b also. one of them is dadders modded, seems quite fast, but from what ive seen from my mamba, i think it will hang with it, if not even faster!

So the mamba would be a good choice?I sure hope so, I just ordered one for my mbx5t, I got the hot-mod 21 mamba due in monday. I couldnt pass up the vp package, half price on replacement part, piston/sleeve/con rod even bearings.

This thing is silly. Nothing like any other engine Ive ran. Took a few to figure out low mixture and the idel screw. Figured out the top was high, like most other engines, but the idel screw is up front on the linkage hook up. Whats the little nut thing?
So far, only thing Im not liking about this is, lack of info. It doesnt tell what scew was what (the 3 on the carb) or what the base carb settings are.
So, anyone know what the carb settings are? Im way fat but need to be for about 5 more tanks. What about the carb needles, or just that bolt on the side, what the heck is it for?
Thanks for the info.

Where do you buy your engines. My 2 LHS's want about 300US for a axe engine.

I purchased my Mambas from www.midmohobbyshop.com. They retail them at 199.99. They also have the Corba for 290.00

John is the owners name. They dont have their online store up yet but they have all their contact info on the site and will ship anywhere in the world.

Give John a shout I am sure he will hook you up with either motor.

My friend just bought an Axe Rossi LSK  and there is no manual.  The engine is new in box with no manual and we don't know where to set the needles.  I'm going to take a shot in this old thread to see if there are still people out there with knowledge of this engine.
