Quick question,When I fly the plane the tail is sagging real bad kinda like its tail heavy but I checked the balance and its nose heavy. Here is what the plane is equipped with.Any help would be great, thanks Patrick

Park 480 1020kv
castle 45
4 spektrum servos(s75)
tp 2070 lipo

It flies like that at faster cruising speed too? When getting near stall flight, this would be normal.
I have my castle 35 under the battery tray and my battery (2170) back, almost touching the wingtube, this is where my 260 flew best.
I just finished #2,I used pinned hinges for maximum frictionless deflection.I found the CA hinges a bit stiff and the servos were groaning.I also sealed all the gaps with scotch tape and did a lateral balance.
Of course after 2 weeks of nice weather, today is grey and raining..

I got to see a new E flight Extra make a first flight today. He used the E flight 480 and a 2100 pack. It really flew nice in the gusting wind we had today much better than my Aero Works Extra 260 profile did. I am using a 480 also so I did have him beat in the verticle.

From my impressions, and don't get me wrong; i like this plane very much (I just posted a new video of it) matter of fact, here it is in high quality divx;

http://stage6.divx.com/user/Aflipz/video/1642161/Eflite-extra-260-480

What i meant to say, is that it is begging for a milestone step in battery performance... something in the 90 grams range able to give 30A of current and still have more capacity than a 2100 pro lite 3 cell. Well, all planes "need" that. but every gram you take off this thing is an improvement.

I have this plane and run the e-flight480 with a thunder power 2100mah 11.1 and it will do anything I ask.

I would like some of you guys to try the slowflyer prop from APC the 12x6.I do, and I think it performs better than the APC 12x6E series, but my motor is 910kv

How much does it draw on a 12x6?

If it is less than you are willing to go maybe a xoar 12x7 would work well to offset the lower KV. slowfly props will make more thrust at lower rpm's that is what they are designed for, but they can't take advantage of the top end at all. Maybe your problem is the 910kv is not high enough to generate sufficient pitch speed from the 12x6 to give you good midrange throttle response.

Just a thought. If you werent 5000 clicks away i would hand you one of mine to test with pleasure.

No actually,I have tons of low end grunt and superb midrange right to max rpm.on the slowflyer.Power is no issue at all.
When I put the 12x6E on it ,it just seemed to slip alot more,on the low end,I would wind up with less thrust for sure.
I fly mostly 70% power when I cruise in Pattern style.I have done some fast passes under full power and it makes a cool deep purring sound. I think its the blades bending ,so i keep my overall speed down.
I am tempted to buy a 1020KV,but I am not low on power and the motor is another 80 bucks.

Cut and pasted from their sites..

Hacker A30-14L Brushless Outrunner Motor 143g 490W
Perfect for use in your 30-45 oz 3D Aerobatic or Scale RC model airplane.

The Park 480 Brushless Outrunner motor is designed to deliver clean and quiet power for 3D park flyers 20- to 30-ounces (565- to 850-grams), scale park flyers 25- to 35-ounces (710- to 990-grams), or models requiring up to 275 watts of power.Weight 87 grams It’s an especially good match for E-flite's Mini Edge 3D ARF (EFL2225) and Mini Funtana 3D ARF (EFL2075), and would provide extreme power for sport park flyers such as the Mini Ultra Stick ARF (EFL2250).

Specifically this 1020 Kv option can handle more current than the 920 Kv version so it is a much better option when match with the Thunder Power Pro-Lite cells.

It seems too much motor and weight. It will not be a good match at all.Look for a motor that weighs under 100 grams and can produce close to 300 watts and will use 2100 size packs.

On second thought, your motor mabe just right for the Extreme Flight or the Fliton electric Extras.Check the specs.

nope. I think that would be too big for the EF 300 (uses a 105 gram 900kv 388 peak watts motor) and the fliton, unless we are talking about the fliton AJ extra in which it might be suitable.

it would go in the EF yak though http://www.extremeflightrc.com/html/yak54e.html
