the fuel tank on every s v 27 Ive seen has a burr on it. smooth out the burr and put a piece of neoprene in the cap........no more leaks.

Thw srtingers are very weak also. After break in I ran 2 tanks before finding this problem. 1st tank in the water, my cowl flew off?????????? it seemed loose out of the box but I trusted it. I was wrong, my other one is super tight.

I emptied the hull and reinforced the stringers and added some floatation. All is good now. A bit more weight for stability .

I dont know much about props. I wann a top speed prop ...any recomendations??????????/

Hey guys- I just ordered a Supervee Nitro and I am wondering what the difference in nitro percentages are. I know the higher the nitro the faster but is there a drawback of using more nitro? Does it have anything to do with engine longevity? and does it make a noticable difference? I just want my boat to be reliable. Thanks!

I just run 35 It doesnt wear out the engine parts as fast some say and some say as long as the oil content is high enough that ntro % will not affect the longevity.. A proper break in period is very important.

One drawback of using higher nitro is that in hot, humid weather, the needle is harder to set. I rwad an interesting thread on another site that said that when you run higher nitro and the same percentages of oil that you are really adding more oil as you have to run the needle richer anyway.
I'm still working with props. I just sharpened and balanced 3 more yesterday. Jerry Dunlap is using a pitched up M-440. Right now I'm turning an X-640 with no trouble. Next I'm waiting for the Aquacraft props to come out so I can try them.

I think that this is the one that Grimmie says to use on this boat: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?&P=PR&I=AQUB9720 , and hey, we've got an up close and personal shot of it!

You will be able to bolt our props on and go, but sharpening and fine balancing is recommended for best performance. Soon we will have a full set of sharpening and balancing instructions on www.aquacraftmodels.com website.
Thanks,

Replacing the 3 bladed prop that comes with the boat with the M440 provided 5 mph on the radar gun. I had to bend the ride plates down to keep the boat from bouncing.

I have not had an opportunity to try any the the Grim Props yet.

A "Lifter" prop is commonly used on hydroplanes.

The cap on the fuel tank really sucks. Fuel readily spills out even when cranked down super tight. Having problems acheiving WOT...maybe because of fuel tank. Does anyone have the same issue...I looked for the
