Right. Wife checked my eye sight and says I can't find anything around the house without asking "where is it". Seems I see what I want to see no better than better Wacky.

GUILTY! Isn't that always the way! I heard someone recently refer to it as a "man-look" as in "skimmed eyes over a certain area, can't see it, must not be there". Significant others always manage to find lost items (sometimes for good reason).

Like when you loose a small part you just trimmed off a sprue, straight into the plush carpet. As soon as you make the call "can you help find ____" suddenly you see it and you're like "oh, dont worry" - but until you call out it remains completely invisible. Also, remember to look exactly where you think "it could never have rolled there" - thats where it will be!

Then theres when you look for something which ends up being right in front of you the whole time (possibly from earlier finding it), or you go looking for something you KNEW was in a certain place, only for it to of re-vanished when you go to retrieve it. Then you wander around aimlessly looking everything you think you would have put it, eventually you get "what are you looking for?" and you say "I can't find <insert random lost item>" only to hear "oh that, I put that ______, it was in a silly place before".

Guess it keeps life interesting

True, true! Guilty here as well.

Now that I just recovered from that elite members (cough cough) crap, I thought my eyes were now playing tricks on me!

Hi Wack, HL mirrored Tamiya's first generation DMD gear boxes. Your showing Tamiya's 2nd generation gearboxes, all and all still close enough. For your own good get those eyes checked. Seriously.

pcomm1, see an eye doctor

Your basis for saying HL copied Tamiya's original gearbox is pretty weak, is because its setout like every other tank gearbox ever. If you honestly believe this is the case, then I rest my case - you checklist must be "has gears, must be copied". Just like "its a Tiger as well, must be copied". The fact no parts are interchangeable between brands pretty much sums up the rest of this.

Wacky, let me help you here with the concept.

The HL gear box "design" is a Tamiya knock-off, your images and observations illustrate the facts perfectly.

Intellectual property concepts in the USA cover inventions and designs used in commerce.

A knock-off "design" is illegal in the USA, of course, not so much in China, at least not yet.

So what about Bandai, and all the other tank manufacturers that use a "logically designed, non-enclosed" gearbox? All "knock-offs" of Tamiya.... right? (in your eyes)

So all cars on the road today are knock-offs of the Model T? or further, back Benz's motorwagen? Get the cars off the streets - cant have knock-off's getting around on US roads... Fords and Mercedes only

Like you say, you only see what you wanna see.... everyone else can tell the diff

No where to go Wacky. It is called royalties, license fees and buying the other guys concepts/designs before you use them in the market place.

Not to common in Asia, as we all know, but standard Western biz practice.

Thank you for proving the point with your images.

OK you got us. We give up. From this day forward let the masses know, Tamiya invented the radio control tank, and any other attempt by anybody else is a theft of intellectual property of Tamiya
