Yes I spent a lot on my sons Sherman, but he is 8 years old. The tank has been air borne, flipped on it side and numerous other accidents. It still runs great. Just a little glue and of it goes. It was my first tank so I might have gone a little over board. My second tank the Tamiya Tiger 1 is different. That one is mine. Other than the Daryl Turner upgrades, the metal barrel, muzzle and ordering the parts to make the hatches open and close it is stock. It runs great even with a few collisions with the Sherman. Just a little glue again and we are off. I think people should buy what they like and can afford. This is a hobby and a hobby should be fun.

I am a Moderator on a Microsoft train simulator forum site, and experience tells me that this thread is not going too well at Times and I thought that it would be better to lock it and start new thread on the same subject. but then I am only a newbie on here so who listens to them, and it is not really up to me as to whether a thread gets locked or not as the case may be and it was only a suggestion.

There are words of wisdom in your post brel. This forum only has moderation when someone whines about a members post. BIGMIG thinks there's a seniority clause in time spent here. If so, I outrank him in post count and time spent!

first off started armour modelling aged 8yrs after watching my dad build a 1/35 saladin armoured car (tamiya) and then R/Cing it using old radio bits and bobs he's still got it!!
I carried on modelling anything i liked up to the age of 16 where i joined Her majestys armed forces (junior leader)where i played with FV432s (bet you couldn't guess that one) the 155mm S.P.Gs trained in weapon technology/warfare (learning about all things that go bang and kill tanks) done a bit in the first gulf came home had enough, got married started modelling Tanks again got bored because they just sit there getting dusty and decided to go the R/C route as it's more fun would like the BB guns to fire a real H.E.S.H round but dont think my local Plod would be very impressed with that one
I am no expert but as i tell my Kids you are still learning something new everyday (and i do)
glad the H/LONGS came about as i can get more tanks than i would if they were tamiyas prices I know the quality isnt there but i'm working on improving mine to what i like and spending some cash on upgrades and the like.
Iam certain that U.K sellers of tamiya R/C swap the $ for £ as it's way to expensive over here
anyway I'm enjoying myself and reading these pages full of harmless fun is quite amusing and has put a big grin on my sad old face KEEP IT UP GUYS BUT HAVE FUN IN WHAT EVER YOU DO

The kindest of regards Rob (FV432)

P.S no keyboards were harmed in this long drawn out rubbish that no one is going to find the least bit of interest in LOL

so am I pal, look at the price of paper back books in the UK. I am sure as you said they change the $ for the £, if you by a book with a sticker over the price and you manage to get it of in one go you will be in for a surprise at the price underneath.

I found it interesting. but i don't write long drawn out rubbish, or do I?
