Just to let you know, I am leaving RCV at the end of April to go travelling. I will still have some involvement with RCV and will continue to develop the RCV website, however the forum support will now be taken over by Ray.

Ray is a very experienced modeller and has also been with RCV engines since it's inception in 1997.

It is been a pleasure responding to your posts in the last few years and I am sure you will continue to enjoy your RCV engines for years to come.

Status: offline 		Can anybody enlighten me as to how to keep an RCV engine cool in an inline airplane like a Spitfire or a Mustang. I have drawn my plans but the engine will be entirely blanked out by the spinner backplate. There is no chin scoop like a P40 and no descernable way to get air into the cowling and over the engine. I hate cheater holes. There are any number of airplanes like that which will make good models, if the engines don't overheat. Sophisticated baffling is an option but I like to keep them simple. There is of course no such problem with a radial engined model, but then one could use a conventional engine. Has anyone encountered problems with the model structure because the piston runs fore and aft rather than up and down?
