Your lighting system sounds great! Hope I can do as well. Wondering how you mounted the nav light LED's in the wing tips? Did you simply drill a hole to fit the LED and let it stick out or did you use an LED mounting socket of some type? How about the stobe light? It would be neat to mount it in the scale location in the center of the stab but neatly running the wires to it might be tricky.

I like the idea of the hinged tail cone as well. I've considered doing the same on my Bronco. I've got a few questions that I'm curious about that maybe you or any of the others here who have completed the Big Bronco can answer. I'd appreciate any input..

1. Where did you mount the receiver?

2. Where did you mount the batteries for the receiver and the lighting system?

3. Where did you mount the air tank for the retracts?

4. Where did you mount the servo and the servo driven air valve for the retracts?

Many thanks..

Gord

I can give one answer the first question...we used 2 receivers - one in each boom. Saved a few yards of servo extensions.......

I ordered my kit from PKC last night. I plan on using the fiberglass parts. I need to contact Rich about the price for just the plans. Undecided about what engines I'm going to use it will be 4 cycles, kind of leaning towards the RVC 91cd I noticed that trykw1 talked about using them not sure which ones(91sp or 91cd) . I want to keep as much inside the cowls as I can. routing the exhaust out the side close to the stock position. this will be a long build not totally scale but close. Any advise would be great. Do you have any pics of your plane?

Telemaster 56,
1. Spektrum receivers are mounted just inside the tailcone. I made an extra former from liteply for the tail cone. It's hinged on the port side. Rare earth magnets and a small plywood catch secure the tailcone. A small hole in the side of the fuse allows for releasing the catch. It swings open in a scale manner.
2.Rx battery is in the belly of the fuse, beneth the radio operator. A hatch on the bottom is secured by small screws. Lighting battery is a 9 v and is secured on the side of the fuse opposite the Rx. I put false ribs on the vert stabs and covered with 1/16 sheeting. The tail beacons and elevator servo wires snake around the bridging shown on the plan. The horz stab is ribs and spar construction so the elev servo is in the stab. The model doesn't come apart like Rick's prototype.
3. I have two air tanks located just behind the cockpit under the wing. I use air cylinders to operate the geardoors also.
4. servo and control valve for the retracts are mounted under the tanks. Another hatch on the bottom of the fuse gives access. The unit for the nav lights is located there also. Wing lights are located in tubes running between the plastic wing tips and the tip rib. Plastic lenses cover the LEDs

You are correct. I did install the RCV 91SP. They fit prefect in the cowl. I am not using the plastic cowls. Im using fiber glass. Be careful however, with these cowls the engines extended out side the clow too much. I had to add about 1/4 inch to the cowl to get the correct fit. When I first installed them they appeared to be smaller than I thought. Today I fired them both up. Im using the 15/3 blade APC prop. These engines swing them with no problem. Im sure i will have more than enough power. Im still breaking them in. Max RPM today was 4975. I know this appears low, but the max rpm range for the RCV Is in the 5000rpm range. I will try to attach a photo. I stll have a little work to go before the bronco will be finished but its coming along nice.

Ken

Great looking Bronco. Thanks for the pics of the engines installed. I'm leaning towards using the RVC 91CD's.

Your Bronco looks great! Thanks for the pictures! The scale gear is especially nice! Did you scratch build that gear?? Spring Air? And the nose gear rotating forwards. That must have been tricky to pull off. Like your color scheme as well. Did you cover the entire plane in green and then spray on the two color camoflage?

That is the rear door of 155395 the D & NOGS/NOS prototype with
the 20MM M-197 Gatling Gun feed control mechanism in the rear of
the fuselage. The rear is empty on all but 155395 and 155396, both
were mules used in each development step of the OV-10.

The door images below are of one of two OBA A's originally painted
white for the CFS. One is now gray and the other is green as in their
original configurations for USAF and USMC. By the way, that key hole
is not on a regulation OV-10... : )

Thanks everybody. Yes the gear (Struts) are scratch built main and nose. The retracts are robart. I painted the entire plane green first...I was going for a little darker color but Oh well...The finished was not what I was looking for but its ok. I am amazed with the torque of the RCV 91 SP.
