Finally figured it out, (cutting down photos to fit)..... I'd Rather be building airplanes than fudging around with this computer...anyway, here are the bare bones of my Bronco. I have to build one more aileron and two more flaps, than I can get the retracts, install radio gear, cover........Fly!

Hi Guys,

The plans for the Big Bronco have finally arrived and I can make a start on the building. I have already purchased the laser cut parts, two OS 61's, the plastics parts and all the strip and sheet I should need.

I would be grateful for any advice on a few topics.

1) How did you strengthen the elevator mounts to stop it coming off in flight.

2) Have any of you made the wing so that it can be disassembled for transit and storage.

3) Has anyone completely covered the engines in the cowls and have you had any cooling problems.

4) Has anyone tried mounting the front undercarriage so it moves the same way as the full size plane.

5) I am struggling to get any research material on the OV-10 Bronco, anyone know where I might get more information/photographs.

I would be grateful for any help or advice.

Many thanks,

Sarah

HI Sarah,
I have just drilled and mounted the pilots pod and both nacelles to the wing, and am in the process of aligning and securing the stab to each of the fins. I plan to mount two hardwood blocks to each fin and bolt the stab in place.
A friend of mine made each wingtip removeable from the outside rib after the nacelles. He was hoping to transport the airplane with the nacelles and pod attached to the wing.(He did a beautiful job, but it still won't fit in his car)
As far as the rest of your questions, I havent gotten far enough to give you my two cents worth.
I did find CenturyJet retracts make a front main gear that does retract forward. But I'm not sure I'll be able to afford them.
Take your time and look through the plans as you might want to modify a few things along the way. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
Phil

Recently finished mine. Have 2 OS .61 fx for power. Have not sync these engines yet. did a patrotic color scheme.red.white.blue. did not use retracts. Reinforced the fin with exoxy and a this piece of hardwood. Used dowel and bolts to attatch stab. this model very tail heavy... even after using lighting holes in rear of fuse...lots of lead in the nose. It would not fit in my SUV with the wing attached. I devised a bar that I attach across where the wing would fit and held with the wing bolts for transportating. I can carry both fuse and do not have to detach the tail section using this method. I'll try to send some photos at a later date. Waiting for nice, calm day for maden flight,
I did a search on the web and found lots of info regarding the Bronco. Good luck with yours.

Sarah, I mounted the engines on the side, using a remote glow, and Pitts style mufflers.

Aeroscale, great looking Bronco. Wondering how much it weighs with engines. I'll post a pic in the near future.
