I have a DX7 on the way to use with my SEv2. Is there any reason none of you guys are using the S285 servos included with the DX7 instead of the HS65s? Did you buy your DX7s before the version with micro servos came out?

Also, when connecting the tail rotor rod to the servo arm, are you connecting a ball to the servo arm? It's near impossible to tell how they have the rod connected to the arm.

I honestly didn't know there was a Heli or micro version when I bought mine. Either way
I knew they were going to be hard to get soon and I had to jump on it and buy it
from the shop I work at and get the employee discount. Have you checked availability
of the Heli version lately? Non existent...

I wouldn't have used anything but the HS-65's and 9650 anyway as these were the very best
setup for the money.

The heli versions of the DX7 don't have a ratchet on the throttle control. The micro version comes with micro servos and the very light AR6100 receiver instead of the AR7000.

As to supply, a new shipment seems to have hit stores this week. Todd's shipped mine yesterday and the web page shows "in stock".

I am going to give the included S285 digital servos a try. I can always put the HS65s on if they don't work out.

Any of you guys noticed how tight the blade grips are? I'm thinking they just might be too tight. Seems like the SE Blades fit a bit better.

I haven't completed my build yet on the v2 but I also have crazy tight blade grips.
'Can barely move the blades around .

There's bound to be a fix but till I find a safe one I'm taking it easy and just doing some hovers to get the feel of it. I have to tell you its one smooth Helli, you'll be pleased.

Mine are tight too. I give the blades a good pull out before I fly and as time has passed, they seem to loosened up a little.

My grips were crazy tight as well when I first got my V2, so I took my dremel out and lightly sanded the plastic on the blades a bit until they fit.

Grips are real tight but, I noticed when I first installed and moved the 325 woodies,
the grips sort of shaved the blade hubs down to the right
size. Hey, I don't know if it's supposed to do this but it works
and I'm still loving it more and more every flight.
Grips remain just tight enough for geat response.

New TREX 450SE V2 owner also! It should be here this Thursday!
Awesome I knew I saw this thread! I just read the whole thing and got some great info.

I bought this kit from JohnsHobbyWorld for 434 shipped:
T-REX 450SE V2 Kit
325 PRO Rotor Blade set
Aluminum Case
RCE-BL35X 35A Brushless ESC(Govener Mode)
430XL Brushless motor(3700KV)
3S1P 11.1V 2100mAh/22C

I also bought a Telebee gyro from Helidirect and 4 TowerPro SG90 servos for now. I am going for the HS65MG servos and a nice digital tail servo but I have to wait a little bit. I currently fly a Walkera 36 with these parts.

Radio: DX7
Receiver: AR7000
ESC: Phoenix 35 (I have the CC link)
Motor: JGF 450th (13tooth pinion)
Battery: 2200mAh 12C 3S
BEC: SportBEC by Dimension Engineering 5v/6v selectable.
Servos: Cirrus CS301 9 gram x 3, Eflite 7 gram x 1
Gyro: Walkera WK-G006

I am seriously thinking about retiring the Walkera 36 all together. Taking the stock motor and esc and putting them in the spares box. Running the BEC/ESC + JGF450th on an 13t pinion. What do you guys think? Otherwise I will use the Align motor and run an 11t/12t pinion.

HS

Oh man, I've received my kit 2 days already. I've been so busy with school and social life that I have ZERO time to begin building it. xD In fact, I don't even have time to go pick up some blue loctite, oil, plumber's goop, and some dean's ultra connector... T_T
The stuff still sits inside each individually wrapped bags just waiting to be built!

Turn off the computer and get to work, you'll be done in no time. There's a form of loctite in the kit. Have fun. Mike
