Now I guess I'll have to choose between the AJ Extra 300-S and the Mini Raven which looks like very good

AJ Extra 330S It's a 330, not a 300. I'm having the SAME problem. I can't choose between the Extreme Flight Yak, the AJ Extra, or the Quique Yak 49". Oh, the strain!!!!! My LHS has some AJ Extras, so I'm leaning towards that. But since I'm in Georgia, I could drive over to Extreme Flight (which is also in Georgia) and pick one of the Yaks up. BUT, that QQ Yak has some good reviews and I wouldn't mind having one. What do I do?

I think one major difference between the AJ-Extra-330S ( ) (or even the mini Raven / QQ Yak) and all the others is the size/weigth.
All the prices are almost the same which makes it still more difficult to choose

I am going to look for info about the QQ in order to complicated things more!

In regards to size/weight, the QQ Yak is considerably larger than the others. My flying buddy has the 3D Yak at 47" and my 49" QQ is a MUCH larger airplane. My RTF weight with an Eflite Power 25 and a TP3S3300 is 52 oz. I don't believe there is that much difference in the performance, though. The scales may tip a bit in favor of the larger airframe but I am not an accomplished 3D pilot so I can't really speak with any authority on that point. If you get the QQ Yak, be prepared to re-engineer the landing gear because it WILL break. I've done 2 rebuilds and I now have it fixed so that the gear breaks away and leaves everything else untouched. Other than that, it is a really great airplane. I like the size; it definitely has the look and feel of a larger (.40 - .50) airplane.

mini raven / AJ extra 330-S / QQ Yak 54 => all three seem to be quite larger than all others listed.
Thanks for the info about the landing gear...

Well...I like this one!

As above, you will have to strengthen the landing gear on the AJ as well. I use stainless bolts instead of the 4 mm nylons, which will break quite easily.

Hi! Thanks for the tip! Do you use it with three or 4 cells?

4 cells; FlightPower 2500 mah Evolution. Probably the largest battery/weight you should use in it. 9.8 ounces per battery.

my flying time with the 2150 4s is about 7 minutes of aggressive 3d. i would imagine the 2500 would give about 9 minutes or so. excellent plane to btw

With the 2500 4S Evo(s) 6 minutes, tops. I fly hard. Sometimes, I fly 5 minutes after lots of full-throttle stuff.

Nice thing about the AJ; it flies like a 30-40 percent bird. I kid you not. It flies as good as my large scale extra 300. All bets are off in the wind, but keep the AJ close-in, and it presents, and flies like a much larger plane.
