oh, tell a lie. since that pic ive put the aluminium body posts on [:)]

VoodooNinja -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (4/14/2007 6:56:00 PM)

How come I see some of the Thunder Tiger Ducati's with upside down/inverted forks and some with conventional? Are there two different versions with the RTR's?

Nevermind, I think my eyes were deceived by the paint shading giving me the impression that they are inverted. For example, on jonmills bike where the bodywork is covering the top of the forks.

mOnO n.s.G^ -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (4/30/2007 6:13:39 AM)

hows the bike treating you guys hows the engine such as top end low end and electronics

VoodooNinja -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (5/1/2007 10:50:22 PM)

Well, I had to get one (Desmo) since I have been into real motorcycles since the 1970's. I have been quite pleased with how it runs so far. Alot easier to control than I expected. I cut and shortened the crash bars in order to get maximum lean angle and that helps. I'm finishing engine breakin, so I can't speak for it's maximum top end. Low end is pretty good, as you can break the wheel loose if your not careful. But some of that has to do with the stock rubber. The stock electronics are good for learning. Radio is similar to the MGT's. The servos could be upgraded to more powerful one's, once you get the basics of handling. A must if you add the optional front brake. The rear shock leaks and constantly check all bolts. (Locktite is your friend)

Where can you buy these things for the best price??

I assume the 999 and Desmo-thing are technically the same with just different bodies??

You are correct. You also get a rear tire hugger with the Desmo and a rider that sorta looks like Loris Capirossi. I bought mine from ThunderTiger4U like mOnO n.s.G^ suggested.

Here is an updated picture of my bike, after I did some more paint work and detailing so that it looks like the GP6 version of the MotoGP racer.

nothinbetr2do -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/7/2007 5:59:47 AM)

hi all, just wondering if its true that a revo or jato shock will fit on the rear mono. also could you tell me of any mods and bigger engines that you use. thanks

boatexpert144 -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/7/2007 1:28:29 PM)

Yes i put a revo shock on my bike that i recently sold and works fine. update with smaller chain and sprocket. I think the engine has plenty of power... but that could just be me

whitham69 -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/7/2007 2:42:16 PM)

Revo shock works well, I put a TT .18pro in mine, you need to cut the cooling head down alittle so it clears the brake servo.

nothinbetr2do -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/9/2007 3:28:31 AM)

will this bike do wheelies and endoes( if i buy the front brake kit). or do i need to change somthing, thanks

whitham69 -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/9/2007 11:58:50 AM)

Not with the standered .12 in there. A larger motor or proper raced tuned .12 will pull wheelies, endoes only the superbikes can pull these as they weigh alot less.

HerrSavage -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/10/2007 10:15:49 PM)

What kind of top-speed can you expect bone-stock??

Thanks..

And thanks for the link SJN.. Still thinking about what I want.. Also considering a Traxxas Jato...

nothinbetr2do -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/11/2007 8:39:55 PM)

whitham69 is this the engine your talking about ( http://www.thundertiger4u.com/pro18bx-p-7546.html ) if so how much more speed or proformance does it have? thanks

whitham69 -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/13/2007 11:10:15 AM)

That the one. the .12 that comes with the bike put out .6bhp the .18 is .9bhp. i bought it as it fairly cheap easy to tune as the engines in bikes need a bit more fineesing than car engines for some reason and the OWB/carb and socket attachment for rota starting (sorry not to sure what that called) is interchangable exaust gaskets and pipe will straight on np. the cooling fins need alittle triming around the servo i also had to remove most the bottom as well to fit my tank but you should not need to do that.It make a far bit faster( it was clocked at 68mph at brooklands but also drank the fuel, i needed to make a larger tank in order to finish a 7 min race and 2 min warm up we have here in the uk.Tank slapping became a problem but i put a small notch under the steering arm to get more rake angle A few fuzzy pic taken on the phone dueing a strip down before the nationals

whitham69 thanks i think i'm going to try it. will it wheelie alot?

whitham69 -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/13/2007 6:52:55 PM)

It like pulling a wheelie on a real bike using the power. you need to know the speed of the bike and the thottle imput to to use. Beware pulling wheelies can damage the the rear of bike if it all goes wrong!!! i don't don't doing them because of this.

nothinbetr2do -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/13/2007 7:00:53 PM)

is there somthing i could do to keep the front down, i like the bigger engine so it'll go faster

whitham69 -> RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici (6/14/2007 11:02:27 AM)

i changed my thottle curve on my Tx, or you could put bigger clutch bell on. any modula one clutch bell will work

The front end coming up is always a problem once you use high grip rear tyres,I've got two bikes with Rossi TOP.12 engines and they both wheelie too easily,really need a 12t clutch bell but the cast ali ones disintegrate and 13t is a bit too much.
Bigger engines mean more wheelies with the resultant repairs.I run an OS.18 in one bike with a 15t clutch bell and I still have problems with wheelies.A harder rear tyre that spins rather than grips will help,also a softer rear suspension set up.

Wheelies are good for spectators,but they don't get the repair bills.[:D]
