Hi Guys
Today for a bit of fun I mounted my Nikon 3700 dig cam in video mode on the side of my jump plane angled slightly back to see Li'l Dude as he jumped. Attached are a couple of stills from the video. I am hoping to steadily gather enough video clips to put another 2 or 3 minute video together.
Li'l Dude is an IHL Junior and has recently been put on the sort of diet I would love to increase his weight by 30% He now weighs a portly 15ozs.
I was pleased with todays efforts so am encouraged to do a lot more!

Regards

Gordon

Hi
Video clips in various versions available at;
http://www.sebrfc.org.uk/gordon/
At real time its a bit on the quick side as it was a 'drop & pop' exercise for the camera.
The slowed down version I think is better?
I managed to get some more usuable footage today so I'm happy. (4 more jumps) all on vid.

Regards

Gordon

Gordan:
When you drop your little dude do you slow you drop plane to a slow fight speed to get these shots which I must say are really good, the reason I asked you that question was because I noticed jumper started turnin to the right. My jumpers when you drop them at a fast speed they will go into a right turn the minute they are dropped. keep those vdieos coming if you make more of them.

My jump plane is a nice slow flyer so I don't bother deliberately slowing down, though I do reduce the throttle back to 50% just prior to Dude doing his thing.
I'm in the process of building new camera mounts and testing footage for two videos at the moment. The shots I posted were from the first of these.
To increase the likelyhood of dude being in frame the jump plane pilot was asked to fly slightly one wing low (towards the side the camera was mounted) for the run in and drop and the camera was angled back from the vertical by about 5 - 10deg.( lucky guess!)
