Thanks TIG. I will be putting a throttle return spring on it tonight. I have One little problem at the moment, which is the servo not steering the wheels with as much power as I would have liked. Im sure It is not the servo's fault, but more so the batteries. All I am using at the moment is 4 AA batteries, what batteries do you guys recommend I use?

Nice job! I think you could go with both tires - one on-road setup and the other off-road.

About batteries, I believe most guys on here would suggest using a 5 cell NiMH sub-C or C battery pack (6 v), for higher current sourcing, and with as high capacaty as possible. I have gotten away with using a 5 cell AA NiMH battery pack, because that's what I had lying around, and it works fine.

Seeing all your pics makes me want to start up my own thread soon...

Keep us posted,

Fabiano

i dont know... its a poulan 46cc...maybe ill run some gears off the crank onto a shaft with the clutch so it wont undo itself...that might free up some space too...

Hmm, maybe a bigger servo, not size wise but power wise would help for steering. Along with a larger battery. That should do the trick.

Get a real battery pack for the servo, like a rechargeable one I mean.

Looks well proportioned with the monster truck tires.

I finally got to drive the thing tonight. I only got to use it for a few minutes because It does not have a muffler and it was 9pm (loud noise + old people = disaster). Now... all I have to say is that THIS THING TOTALLY RIPS. I only went to about half throttle as well, because it dosen't have breaks yet. At about 2500 rpm the clutch engages and it takes off like a rocket. If you squeeze the throttle too quickly it just breaks traction. I also only drove it with the smaller wheels because the chassis needs to be modified a bit so that the monster truck wheels can be used, but nothing major. The steering and suspension works flawlessly because it handles just as well as it used to. The run time seems to be good as well, because in the few minutes I used it, it only used a tiny bit of fuel. The top speed im guessing would probley only be about 35mph, but im still unsure.
There will be more pics and possibly a video within the next day.

Saawweeeet, looking forward to this, what kind of muffler you going to use?

You may want to change the gearing if you break traction so easily?

Nice, I'd like to see a vid soon as well to compare to mine

I don't think anyone mentioned it, but is that in-line gas filter from your previous nitro car? I heard someone mention in a thread that the nitro filters and gas lines won't hold up well to the gasoline - I suppose it's more of a question on my part then. For the exhaust you could use a pocket-bike pipe with expansion chamber and it would be less expensive than a top notch tuned one for RCs and still look nice.

Thanks, but I have already made one. Its only temporary but it still works very well. It is made out of a deodarent can and makes the engine run with alot more bottom end power, but lowers top rpm. I have also added on an air filter and finished the breaks, which only took me about fifteen minutes to make. The breaks work really well too.
This thing is awsome, with so much low end grunt that you can drift with ease. One thing that I must do though is get some stiffer suspension springs and heavier weight oil.
The run time of one full tank of gas is about 20 minutes, about double the time it was when it ran on nitro.

I have got 2 videos of it, but because I only have dial up internet, im not sure if I will be able to upload them yet, however I am trying to upload one as I am typing this. If it doesn't work I will have to uplead them from my friends house tomorrow.

Here is video 2. My mum filmed this one...dont laugh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW1GTC9aabw

In that video the engine was still running really rich. It runs even faster now.

By the way, I still have not gone full speed yet, I'm too scared that it might run away

enjoy!
