The way I see it is that maybe the first batch of planes that went out a couple might have had weak glue joints. My Sundowner was absolutely perfect. I went over it and everything was first class as far as construction and covering. I was not happy with the wheel axles they bent too easy and also the tail wheel gear is great for asphalt but not for grass, it was bouncy. I also opened up the wheel pants to allow the for tire expansion. My maiden flight include two dead sticks and they were not pretty. One was in a fifteen foot gulley, and the other was in some alfalfa were the plane cartwheeled from wing tip to wing tip and then flipped and landed on its back. In both cases the plane came out with out a scratch, I mean not even a mark on the monokote nothing. I would like to add that I make it standard practice with every ARF even though it looks perfect, I re-inforce the landing block area, as well as go over the glue joints with thinned epoxy, and also pin and tristock the firewall. That is the bare minimum. If you go over your plane and see it looks good, you have nothing to worrry about. I want to get a hold of Hangar 9 or Mike McConville and not ask for my money back, but tell them what a great plane I have. __________________________________- Airnondas.
