It flies! My Saito keeps viabrating loose from the engine mount. I think the wood is compressing. I'm going to make some plates to spread the force of the nuts out so they won't dig in. I also need to offset the engine more. Otherwise it was a blast.

I picked up a wooden 14x4.

Hey guys,

I got some video of me and my old radical yesterday, it's been through a number of encounters with the ground but the rad still comes out strong! I have a Magnum .46, futaba 3004's, and a tower pro 996 on the rudder, and it flys pretty good to me.... even with the added weight from all the repairs...

Hey T3beatz,

Now that's some flying!!!! Some people say this plane is to heavy to fly like that. You wouldn't know how much it weighs would you?

I noticed that mine was trying break in the same place behind the wing. I think it happened when I was doing inverted flat spins and holding altitude. The Saito 82 has crazy power and I was almost full throttle. When I got it home I just pealed the covering back and boared a couple of holes and squirted thin CA in them. It seems more rigid that originally.

I can't believe your getting a 46 to hover like that. What prop and what fuel?

I was using a 12x4 prop and omega 15% or cool power 15%, (the green one) I always get them confused... I think it would have had more power if I put one of the tower mufflers on the magnum. I had a tower Hobbies .46 and I put a OS engine muffler on it and I felt the power loss right away... I like the Magnum engines, good price and I have not had a problem out of the two that I have, I just flip start them both and they start right up every time!!

The frankin rad met its demise today, My RX Crystal vibrated loose and I lost all control of the plane at full throttle Heading toward the ground! I had to dig it out after that..LOL!

Oh yeah,

I think it was about 4.7LBs without fuel at the time, because when I first built it I think it was about 4.3LBs, This plane can hang with the best of them!

You know that great feeling you had flying the Frankin Rad? It's better with a Mojo/Primo/Chinn Yakk......

Don't know about that, Maybe! Frankin rad 58.00 vs MoJo 159.00 , or 75.00 and I still have to build it! I crash my rankin rad, mess up the covering no big deal, I do the same to the Mojo and theres that bad feeling in my stomach . The mojo is probably a very good 3d plane, I've never flown one so I can't make any judgments on it. But I do know that it along with the Chin yak, or overpriced, I forgot to add shipping to the Mojo and Chin yak... My frankin rad was 58.00 delivered from Tower... I guess you can say you can't put a price on quality, but I've only been flying for about 5 1/2 months now and I don't want to risk spending all that money just yet...

Had another good day of flying. So far the $70 was well worth it.

you may or may not like a mojo, if your used to flying a radical, the mojo will feel sedate. not saying the mojo's bad, it just doesnt have the bad tendacies(sp) other profiles do, sit in a harrier and dont touch the 'rons it locks in any manuver(sp) unlike other planes. if you like the rad i'd go for the chakk, its more loose.

money, money, money, thats all i hear about when i drag a $150-200 profile out at the club, they're usually well constructed arf's, great color schemes, and fly well. can't really find the $50-80 arf profiles that fly worth a crap anymore, the first radical i bought was about $140 shipped when they first came out.

SCORE!!!!

I found Frankin Rad's twin brother at Joe Nall. $40 NIB.

It's a CG Extreme 330. Same construction, same hardware...

Hopefully, it will weigh in below 5lbs like my Frankin Rad with TT .46.

I ordered a Chinn Yak from Chris to replace Frankin Rad, but Rad is still holding up strong.

I have an Extreme 330 with a ST 51 and a 13x4 prop. Lots of fun! I can't get it to hover solid but it does okay. It's my grab and go plane.
