Well, I placed my order on Dec. 12th and after numerous attempts via e-mail and v-mail I have yet to receive an order confirmation or any sort of communication from O'Brien. I was lucky enough to get Doug on the phone on Dec. 17th and was told that the order had shipped on the 14th and I would have an e-mail in ten minutes with tracking info and the order confirmation. Guess what, no e-mail.

I'm hoping beyond hope that this Christmas present, which was ordered in plenty of time, will be here for my son.

Doug, if you read this please send me the tracking info and order confirmation as soon as possible.

Ron

this guy reminds me of a car that'll only start occasionally, and never when you really need it. Last one I had like that, I took to the junkyard!

All orders placed before Dec. 18th, inluding Ron's, have been shipped, not only have they been shipped, they were shipped via whatever method necessary to have those orders arrive no later than Monday December 24th, therefore, everyone will have their order for christmas.

This means that WE paid extra shipping costs out of our pocket (including 3 Day , 2 Day Air and ExpressMail) to make sure these packages arrive so they will be under the tree xmas morning. We did not charge one customer more than our $7.99 flat rate shipping for this service.

Ron, even if your order had shipped the day of your order via UPS ground, there are strong odds that it wouldnt have reached you by xmas. So we paid extra to make sure it does. (Probably arrive Monday, maybe today)

Im sure everyone can read the news, our area alone has been hit with 4 major snowstorms already, the midwest, 3 major storms and one very bad ice storm. Couple that with the busiest time of the year for shippign comapnies, you have extremely long delays! I dont mena a day or two either. On the averge in the past month, on over 200 packages we shipped, we have seen delays upwards of 4, 5 and 6!!! Days. This is why we paid the extra fare to get customer's orders out to them.

I know even if it reaches any customer by the 24th, thats cuttin it pretty damn close, but its still there before xmas.

As far as emails not going thorugh, long response times from us. IM SORRY, BUT... our phones have gone out numerous times, therefore the internet goes with them, we have had to close 5 criticla shopping days this season due to severe weather.

We've dne the best we (or anyone else) could have. Maybe we could have answered emails quicker if the days were perfectly sunny, the roads were perfect and we were dealing with all the other problems that haunt us this time of year. ( Shipping problems, distributor probelms etc..)

The bottom line is Ron, your son will have his radio xmas morning. And everyone else that reads this, if they have the same concern, if your order was by the 18th, your will have your orders wrapped under the tree too!

Merry Christmas.

DOUG

Let me be the first to say that I was able to get Doug on the phone after my post and he not only gave me the tracking information, but told me I had been upgraded to 2nd Day Air. I have checked with UPS and my order was shipped on the 20th and I'm targeted for delivery on the 24th. Cutting it very close but I'm hopeful my son will have his radio for Christmas.

I also want to apologize for airing this in public. I decided to post in this forum only after leaving numerous voice-mails and e-mails that went unanswered. I prefer to handle this type of issue directly with the people involved and that is what I tried to do. I hope Doug can forgive me, but I had no order confirmation, tracking number or contact from the time I placed the order on the 12th until today. Doug, I hope you can appreciate my frustration in this circumstance.

All this to say, Doug has shipped my radio and made up lost time by shipping 2nd day air at his expense. Bravo for being a stand up guy in this transaction.

Thank you Doug. I look forward to making my son a happy kid at Christmas.

Ron

I'm still waiting for servos that I ordered about a month ago. I believe I'm getting the same routine that's been going on with this company for about a year now. I usually do research before makings purchases but since I've never had a problem with any other online retailer in this field, I didn't this time. If I did, I would have seen this thread and not dealt with this company, no matter how low their prices may be. Other online companies such as Tower Hobbies and HeliDirect will continue getting my business and they've made many thousands of dollars off of me so far. O'brien has only gotten $50 but won't get any repeat business from me because, intentional or not, this company has serious problems and appears to be run by shady characters. I'll wait a little longer and post when I get some results.
