Hello all i have a Super Chip that is the nitro models one that i had to do quite a bit of work to. I bought it off a guy that crashed it and i finally got around to fixing it. I need to know the CG and if someone could tell me or give me the specs for the engine mount. If i am not mistaken the centre line of the mounts should run right through the hole in the firewall. If someone could confirm that it would be great thanks for all the help.

I have had two of these planes, very nice flyers...i just sold them...no crashes. Had about 50-80 flights on each. cg is 103 mm from le. throws 10mm eitherway on ailerons, 8mm either way on elevator. Watch your elevator throws and high speeds, plane has a bad habit of snap rolling. Many chippies have been lost due to this tendancy. Engine is mounted 103 mm measured from rear of engine mount to rear of prop. Thrust lines appears to be crisscrossed directly through the fuel tank hole. Also maybe check your incidences, both my chippies needed noticable nose down elevator trim to fly level. My first flight i had full down trim and still needed to hold some down elevator to land, very unnerving on a maiden.

Thanks so much for all the info. I will post some pics when i get the chance. I will need to order a new cowl and possibly the main gear. Depends on if i can get them straight enough to suit me. I am going to be throwing my Evo. .61 in there so it should really whip along. I am also working on getting smoke installed in my WM Super chip right now.

I had a super tigre 45 in the first and a os fs 70 in the second. The 61 should be a rocket! Good luck on finding a cowl, I needed one so i could mount the 70 to replace the 45, I was told to buy another plane...so i did!
