Any 2.8 rims and tires will work, jato rear rims will work, jato tires will work. Any rim that says 2.8 inches will work on your car, any tires that are for 2.8 inch rims will work.

2.2 will work if it has a 12 mm hex, you can get onroad tires for the 2.2 rims. The traxxas rustler uses 2.2 rims but you will need 4 rears. the jato 2.8 with the anaconda tires would be a good onroad setup, its used on the traxxas jato, the same applies, you need 4 rears.

2.2 Rims don't work, we tried it already, the rim is too small and it rubs on the upper part of the hub, on the Volcano Series of trucks you HAVE to use 2.8 or they won't fit properly, on the buggy you can use 2.2 rims.

I don't how, we put them on a Vocanl STX and they rubbed on the upper part of the hub where the upper adjuster attaches, but we swapped them out for 2.8inch and they fit perfect.

the 2.8 have a better offset. The 2.2 will fit, some need a little trimming on the ribs on the inside but i have a set of traxxas chroms rustler rears on mine with the gladiator tires and they work fine.

no, you need the hex to fit, the front are rounds with beaings in them. The rears fit with a little trimming on the inside of the rims.

BUT, the hex is not as deep as you need it to be.

Rears have a deeper hex, I saw this when getting my TRX wheels.

I don't want to start a war but the fronts and rears hexs are the same... the offset is 9mm different, for a total of 18mm wider... this might be a good thing for cornering.....
