SearchMan -> The Phoenix RC Flight Simulator (4/17/2007 10:18:25 PM)

Does anyone have any experience with PhoenixRC Flight Simulator? I read the review in Model Airplane News and it looked interesting and priced right.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Yeah its good. I think personally its better than the reflex. The models dont seem to be as hard to see from a distance, as i say thats only my opinion but definatly a lot cheaper

I agree with Spacey. I believe most people in NZ have Reflex but Phoenix is cutting into their market share at a great rate of knots based on the quality of the software and its price. I got it when it first came out after reading a review. Since then the've recently released a major update (along with a bunch of smaller ones in between) and they are continually adding new models and flying fields. Model dynamics are awesome.

They will even consider adding your local flying field and your model. I've recently questioned them about flaperons and while the software can't handle it now they have my request on the "next to develop" list.

Anyone else using Phoenix and have some feedback about how it is?
Realistic planes, helicopters, landing effects, water effects, 3D flying?

I know it looks good. Do the tree leaves move also?

Hoping you have some pleasurable enjoyments to relate.

Phoenix Rocks! I've been using mine for a little over a month and love it. I've been flying R/C for about 20 years and feel this program is very realistic. I've been practicing my 3D skills and have been impressed on how the different models behave.

I haven't noticed the leaves moving, but I did freak out a nesting bird when I got too close to a tree!

I can't think of anything about the program that isn't positive - you can't go wrong - you use your transmitter - you can download free planes and flying fields. New ones just came out this week.

Get the Phoenix, you'll love it!

SearchMan,

Are you yanking my chain?
Did you really see and hear a bird fly from a tree?
That really sounds pretty radical!!! Wow!

LOL

Just a little [:D]

I downloaded Phoenix and viewed it. It does not allow for trying it with a controller like ClearView does, but from what I see it seems to be a very good simulator.
Cost wise it is listed at $160.00 Since it does not come with a controller and I already have Reflex XTR and RealFlight G4, and AeroflyPro Deluxe, I think I can live a while longer without it.

Also I have been informed by Phoenix support that the RFG4 controller will NOTwork with it. ClearView meanwhile works perfectly fine with the RFG4 Interlink controller, as does FMS.

I am still impressed by the visuals of Phoenix though.
