The rerelease is cool and all but it stinks the value of the originals is so low now, and being young I have no sentimental value with it

LB,

I don't think I can wait for the release - I guess I will just build the one I still have in the box - OR - better yet, when I do get it I can do a side by side build up to show the differences -

Now that would be cool.

What'd you think?

Build it up.. and compare it to the new one when it comes out..

I don't believe in keeping kits in the box and never use it..

Sure, you might be able to sell it in the future at a higher price.. (a few hundred dollars? $1,000?) But come on, if your retirement plan is based on collecting RCs, you have a bigger problem coming..

So build it, have fun with it, the way the RCs are meant to be!

LB,

I can't resist - I will build them next to eachother and see which one I like best - I am partial to the original so I can't help but be biased.

The reason I don't like to build them is in the day, Tamiya use to take the time to put all the cool parts in the seal wrap stuff on top. So when you opened the box all the cool things were in the own little bucket, now they just throw everything in a bag - F350 as an example - and you struggle to find the correct stuff.

No real problem. Just get your own little containers and split the bag up before you start building. It might bee just me... But examining every little part from every possible angle is half the fun of building the kit. As an Engineer I just love the amount of engineering and design that goes into these "Toys".

Actually the first one is the fake.. (the one w/ 4WDS sticker on the wing) Note the ugly body / proportion compared to the real deal..

The dual rear shock setup I think was introduced in HotShot II..

I mean, Bosscat is a belt drive, so I think you got room for a shaft drive 4WD buggy in your collection...

I can't wait until someone do a build thread on the HotShot, though.. I want to see where's the difference between the old and the re-release!

Too bad that TEX cancelled his order..

LB,

Mine is STILL on order, but my LHS promises to call as soon as it comes in. Starting to think that is the same time hell is freezing over. I even prepaid for the thing to make sure that I was serious.

Any day, any day . . . . . .

Which store?

Hobbytown in Centerville or maybe The Hobby Shop down by the Dayton Mall?

The Hobby Shop at Dayton Mall.

This is the longest I have ever waited - Randy usually can get me things in one week. I hate to go there because I usually end up spending way to much.

Anyway, yeah, I really am looking forward to see what's the difference between the re-release of HotShot compare to the original ones!

Many people at UK have already gotten theirs (saw a bunch at TamiyaClub.com) so I hope it will be soon available at Tower.. not that I am getting one.. I shouldn't, so I will count on you to post on feedback and stuff!
