Nicoleto,
I guess that your right. The Q4 is the way to go. I received my X CSM frame yesterday and it just isn't what I want. So I'm sending it back. Unless someone would like to buy it from me for what I paid. $240.00 shipped in the USA. Other wise back it go's in a couple of days. I'll be ordering the Q4 here shortly. Thanks for all of the info, it has really come in handy. One more quick question: I've noticed that for the most part quad flyers are gear drive, except the q4 which seams to be direct drive. Any thoughts on gear drv. versas direct drv.? Thanks again
Tom

Hi guys here is the latest video from hammer. Check it out. "I already ordered mine. Counting days now"

http://www.rcmovie.net/view_video.php?viewkey=328ecb03c598409e2b16

Hi Tom2. The geared versions have brushed motors which deliver less power and need the gear reduction in order to move large propellers.
ss power than the brushless ones.

personally, i'll buy it when there will be a "professional working kit" available on the market.

By professional working kit i mean : an UAVP coming with a special camera rig, ready to fly and to work with it, with receiver, etc.....

just like the draganflyer's SAVS kit or the more expensive microdrone's kit.

Does anyone know if the Spektrum DX7 transmitter and AR7000 receiver will work with the Q4? And as far as sensors go, what are you getting with yours Nicoleto? I'm going to try my hardest to wait, so I can see how everyone elses turns out. I'm sure Nicoleto will keep us all well informed on how his new toy performs. Can't wait to hear (read) about it. I'm hoping that not to far in the future these things are really going to improve greatly in the electronics area. Maybe even fly it self! Like computers, every eight months your new one is a fossil. Bells and whistle to be found everywhere. Oh yea, is there a flight sim around for these things?

Hi Tom2. At the following link you can find a FAQ page that can answer most of your questions. In fact it says that you can use a 2.4GHz Tx/Rx system so I guess that the spectrum modules would work without problem.

http://www.uavp.de/index.php?option=com_easyfaq&Itemid=71&lang=en

The sensors I ordered are:

- Three Gyros ADXRS300 - 300 degree/sec
- One Barometric Pressure Sensor - SCP1000
- One Compass Module - HMC6352
- One Triple Axis Accelerometer - LIS3LV02DQ
- One Conrad GPS Module

So far, only the gyros, the accelerometer and the compass modules have been implemented. The GPS and pressure sensors will be implemented in the near future.

All the sensors can be bought from SparkFun at:

http://www.sparkfun.com

Or Lipoly at:

http://www.lipoly.de/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=814&language=en

NO. I simply want to see the thing parked in the sky as high as it was in post #36. I saw that it can go high but I want to see some 2-3 minute smooth controlled high altitude flight with AP video.

Hi Sky. "Rompe Bolas” is an expression in Spanish. Unfortunately we don’t use that expression in Colombia so I'm not quite sure what it means. I prefer you to go to the following site where you can input the expression and it will tell you its meaning. However, you must take into account that the meaning will vary depending of the country it is being used.

http://www.diccionarioweb.org/d/ES-ES/rompebolas

Hi all,
To get the word out on the new X-3D BL Quadrocopter, I started a thread with a poll (everyone drop by and vote) along with a compiled comprehensive datasheet of the kit components, pics from Jast's site, and some vid links ...

Hi Bruce ...
Thanks ... I'm just trying to pass on the word on alternate quadrocopter solutions out there ... I think this is the one I'm going to settle on.

Ok, great quadrocopter discussions going on...

So, if one ordered set #2 which includes the following:

1x populated board
1x programmed PIC, most actual version for ADXRS300
3x Gyro ADXRS300
1x Accelerometer LIS3LV02DQ
1x Compass module HMC6352

from http://www.lipoly.de/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=814_845&products_id=5751

It's up to the user/builder to supply the following, correct ?

Tx/Rx
4x motors
4x props
4x ESC's
A beautiful frame like the Q4.

Thats correct, but I can advise you to at least buy their yge 30i controllers, they are adapted (normal yge 30) for use with the I2C bus which the mainboard also supports.

Thanks for the information! Can you explain how the yge ESC's are adapted for the supported bus?

For those of us in the USA, and for supportability reasons, it would be good to be able to use PPM signaling to the ESC's. That way, it might be possible to use CC Thunderbird 18's, Phoenix 35's, etc.

Eric

Honestly,I would not have a clue how they achieved that. All I know is that they react way quicker than the ppm version which, in case of the yge,was already recommended before the I2C version came out.I am using the normal yge30 controllers at this moment with a large frame(70 cm between motor axles) so response time is not such a big issue.

Actually yes I did build one already. It is a Mikrokopter and I flew it for the first time last night. I'll post some pics and videos tomorrow.
I'm planning to build a second one, this time it will be an UAVP Queadrocopter. It may take some time because I’m still buying some parts. However, I already have all the electronics so I may interchange the main board with the MK just to make some initial tests

Regards
Nick

Hi Nicoleto,

If you go the UVAP route, are you going to build your own PCB or order it pre-made from lipoly.de?

I ordered it premade from Lipoly. I decided to go both ways, UAVP and MK so I also ordered some Mikrokopter electronics. In fact I already have a working MK. Here is the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDdKOnZu9nI

The idea is to use the same frame, props, ESC, rx, and motors, and switch the main boards so I can test both the UAVP project and the Mikrokopter project. I tried to buy one of Hammers frames from Lipoly but unfortunately they don't have them in stock so I built my own based on Hammers design.

Here you can find some pics of the alu frame:

Nick
