I have the kit (not the ARF) that I bought YEARS ago when I was in High School. I never put it together though. I am new to the hobby and not so sure it would be airworthy if I build it. I may have one of the guys in my club build it for me.
Ok guys I need advice and help with the planning of my next project, Hanger 9 Pawnee ARF. I plan on using .82 Saito Golden Knight four stroke. What I would like to do is use smoke to simulate spray. Where to begin don't know Help. would like to have spray bar along each wing with multiple nozels. Any ideas.

Hi gator, You will probably get better information in the crop duster thread about this subject. A few guys toss some ideas around about experimenting with smoke as simulated spray...including myself. (See my pawnee below)
As far as the H9 Pawnee goes and general information about it, go to these threads already going for some time. We're just sitting around on this thread waiting for our long awaited RC Guys Ag wagon to make its' debut appearance on April 15.
Whatever you come up with with your H9 Pawnee smoke/spray system...post your pics on one of those two threads. I'm sure the other guys there would be interested in seeing.....

I had this arf sitting around for years. I got into the agwagon thing a while back and remembered I had one in the hanger. I have another one in not as nice shape too. I actualy found a new in box cowl for the older one and its on its way. I just might dig out the older one and clean it up some and sell it? I just about finished the Hanger 9 Pawnee and I don't think I need 2 of the same plane. Another plane from RC guys is coming out so I might need to sell something to make room for their 96"er. On the Hanger 9 Pawnee I had to make the red light flash too. Here is a clip of the KyoshoCessna 188 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W__3HSXQOQ4

out acontrol is your system smoke and routed via tubes to the pray bar. If so is there enough preasure to push smoke to both sides reasonably even. Is there any problems in engine idle or anywhere inbetween with the reduction in piping.

Don, I'll let you know after I fly it....which will be a while. The weather has been crummy (windy or rainy or both). But anyway, I just finished her up recently and after working on it for about 9 months, I'm pretty much burned out and need a break. I will probably maiden her this summer when conditions are right. For now, I can tell you, as they say, 'it looks good on paper'. There are no blockages in the exhaust routing and although the spraybars do reduce slightly from main exhaust tubing, the ends are open allowing free flow. The holes are small around double T joint area where tubing feeds into spraybar, and holes gradually get larger towards the ends where the ends are open. Here are a couple more pics of the construction process..... Hope this helps. BTW....No I have not started the engine yet and done any experimenting. I'll have plenty of time to do that when she flies later this year. Just taking a break.

Sounds like Canada. Thanks for the pictures of your set up. This is sort of how I invisioned the system.
Don (the Gator)
No problem....I'm sure this setup will work on the smaller H9 Pawnee with a 4s .82 or what not. I just wish I could be of more help. But at least you know you're not alone in your thinking and what you want to achieve using a spray system.

To All out there, Well, the shipping date is fastly approaching and the antipation is at full bore!! My Ag Wagon will be here either April 7th or 15th. Plans are still to make the hopper for a candy drop and to disguise it by building a spreader just behind the drop doors. The engine for choice will be a 45cc gas burner to replicate the power and preformance of an Ag Truck. I have found the Cessna logo that was on the tail and will replicate it also. Oh, there will be the scale 6 square feet of purple on the rudder for Stam ( rice herbicide) so commonly found here in the Miss. Delta back in the late 70's and 80's. I will post some pictures on the finished product and possibly on the hopper box. Travis

Let's just hope there are no last minute delays that pop up suddenly. I've been waiting for the E-flite Piper Pawnee from Horizon since mid-December 07 and they keep pushing back the date of new shippment. Don't mean to compare these companies....but it is agrevating when it happens. I hope things are still on time here.....
