The Grumman Ag Cat was radial-engined I think, but don't remember ever seeing a Cessna w/ one. I'm not that familiar w/ the breed, though.

I didn't understand the reasoning for a radial either, but to each his own.

Here is a picture of the Evolution 26GT2 mounted. Fit with no problem. Just need to punch a couple holes in the cowl for the exhaust.

Is anyone besides me a little disapointed in the workmanship on this kit?

1) They didn't take the time to match the ribs on the corrigated surfaces. Just cut pieces and stuck them on.
2) No instrument panel. No shelf for a pilot.
3) No top hatch. Installing and adjusting linkage through the bottom hatch with the plane upside down is a pain and here is pleanty of room for a top hatch. The 40 size e-flite Pawnee has one and it works great.
4) The tail wheel assembly is too light for a plane this size. The angle of the bracket doesn't match the fuse. The bottom of the fuse is balsa. Even with CA screws won't hold. They should have used heavier tail wheel like the Sig and put a plywood insert in the bottom of the fuse.
5) The CA hinges they give are too light for this size plane. CA hinges also don't last long if you are running a gas engine.
6) The wheels that come with the kit are as cheap as they get and will not hold up, especially the tail wheel. They are all solid foam type wheels.
7) I don't know what the white covering they used is, but I cannot remove it. There is a clear coating that comes off and the white stuff is welded to the balsa. I ended up sanding it off so I could get the epoxy to stick.

I would have rather paid a little more and received a higher quality product.

I just decided to go with a radial for the sound. I have a local pilot who was a family friend that got paralyzed in a crash in an AgTractor when he was spraying years ago and I'm kinda doing the plane close to what he had. He is still a great guy to talk to and loves to keep up on the aviation world. Hats off to ya "Charlie Chicken"! You will always be remembered even by the RC world. I will post pics when I get them available. And for those enquiring minds, Dan from RCGuys was even thinking of putting this same engine on one for him!!!

I think I'm going to stick with something between the G26 and G38. I like the scale look/flight. I'm hoping to start the building process soon. Any progress reports out there?

Thats the same covering they used on the RC Guys Decathlon. That stuff is a real pain to work with.

To All,
I have been here in the Miss. Delta for almost 52 years and I have never seen an Ag Wagon with a radial engine on it. I 've seen Stearmans, Wacos, and all asortments of Cubs and their derilatives but no Cessnas with radials. Closest I have ever seen or riden in is a Cessna 150 Texas Taildragger with a 150 stuck in the nose. Talk about short field take off!!!!!!300 feet, Maybe!!!
AS for my Ag Wagon, it arrived with a cracked (Large bird strike ) in the rear glass and Dan was in true fashion, got me a replacement canopy-no questions asked- in a week. Problem is- I cannot get off work long enongh to work on my plane ( I work for an electrical generating plant and it is hot down here right now). Good luck to all with their projects. By the way, I do agree that the agie needs a top hatch to work on the inside with instead of the bottom. Just a suggestion to ponder.....Travis In Miss. Delta......

Barry (Bear) Waters from Ripon California reports that he had his first 2 flights on Friday. “The AG Wagon is my 48th airplane in my hanger. This Ag Wagon is by far the best ARF I have received. It was packaged well and everything went together swell. It was off in about 10 feet (with Zenoah G38)… I wanted the extra power because I will use it for banner & billboard towing. On the first flight all I had to do was give it two clicks of up elevator and it was then hands off. I used the tank that came with the ARF but installed a gas stopper. After about 2 minutes I handed it off to my student and he flew it for about 12 minutes. Total flying time for two flights was 18 minutes. The landings were greasers. I am tickled to the bone my friend. This is one nice airplane.”

OUTACONTROL41,
Looks like there may be some light at the end of my tunnel. I may get paroled from work till Friday and if I do and be a good boy, I'll be able to do some work on my agie. Looking at cutting the top off to be able to have some room for the hopper and to be able to get these gorilla hands inside there to work on the firewall and landing gear arrangement. Looked at the gear plate and looks a bit thin for me with the load I plan to put into the hopper. The engine of choice is going to be a CR PRO 45 with a 3.5 chrome spinner and a 22-8 or 10 prop. Saw a good looking tailwheel assembly at lhs and priced around $ 20.00 so that will have to be put on. It will be free swivling since there will be no direct connection between it and the rudder. I have been pondering the
