No seriously, that question get asked too much. The answer is a BIGGER and BETTER engine will make you go faster. An OS .18CV-RX is what you need

hahaha, hells.... good idea... [:)] the O.S .18 CV-R is an amazing engine, its what i run, i recommend if you get it to get a new exhaust system, i chose a dynamite, since its a pretty good price, and sounds great as well... if you do get it, get some high end loctyte cause mine spits out screws like water if i dont check em, and use good loctyte... i wouldnt go too crazy on mods though, tuning helps alot

From what I see at the local track, it doesn't matter how fast your car is. What matters is how well it sticks to the ground, and how good a driver you are. A faster car means loosing control easier, and breaking easier. Nitro Star 18SS engine, is just about right.

wildchildbmx6, judging from the amount of posts that you have and your general question, you are not very experienced, therefore leading me to say that you dont need to make your rs4 the fastest, a good start would be to get an os 18cvrx and then get the red pinions, and the 41 and 37 tooth spur gears

one thing to note on the 41x37 gearing. your going to need to modd your chassis engine holes in order to fit the gearing correctly

So to make it a bit more clearly, the transmission gears are smaller then stock so you would need to set the engine closer to the trans gears. I've drimmel'd my chassis some and if you dont do this step, your engine prolly wont even tuch the gears. And if it does you will surely grind those fresh gears in less then 5 seconds.

I just tried to install the os 18cv-r with pull start and i had a feeling that it would be close and hit's the rear chassis. I don't want to cut the carbon upper deck is there a back plate i can use and remove the pull start to make it fit

I just installed my OS .15 CV-RX last night which is pretty much the same engine. You just have to cut out part of the Diff case and radio tray support. I cut mine out a little too much just a little under a cm( stage 1 lightweight yo!) still looks good though. It never went near the normal plastic radio tray at all, im not too sure about the carbon fibre one though

you have to grind the chassis slots about 3mm with a dremel

yeah you can get the back plate for the engine here its only six bucks but you will have to get a non pull flywheel, non pull

engine mounts, and a starter box which adds up to allot of money

however bump starting is the best method of all just expensive and annoying to carrying a starter box

You also need a new crankshaft if your going to use that backplate which is gonna be at least $150 for starterbox,batteries and all. I always thought the OS .18's were a straight bolt on

they are, you just need to buy the engine mounts for it, theres none built on it

nah i just used a dremel and grinded down the little end on the crankshaft that mates to the pull start

Go to hobby store and ask for a F size model rocket motor. Then get some ignitors and a launch keypad and your ready for some insane speed. Oh yeah, it only last like 2.1 seconds, but you'll likely never find the car again, at least not in one piece.

use 19/23 pinion gears and 41/45 spur gears,also you can port your header,hi-flo airfilter and you can also safely use 25%nitro.

dont need to cut anything on the chassis, all you have to do is pull off the whole spur gear cassing and at the very botton there is a ''C''shaped part that will come off, take it off and it will sit lower, now you can use smaller spur gears.
Best engine is OS 18 tz
