Had my Harmony out on the airfield today. Breaking in of the new engines and minor adjustments. Got the battery secured so the cable ties don´t show.
Prop´s came loose. Got alloy spinners and the nuts don´t tighten enough. A washer or two will do the trick. Then all that remains is to fit the cowls and the tank filling valves. An hours work or so. Then it will be Harmony season again.
It´s thursday again. Last year I had the Harmony out on a thursday. That´s club evening. Look everybody. I got 2 engines on my plane. Everybody don´t look while I go over that hill, behind those bushes to find my plane.

Harmony update:
The instruction book says to fit the nose cone using cyanoglue. I thought: It will never hold. So I´ll use epoxy. And it does hold. Cyanoglue will come off by using debonder. Epoxy will not come off. Use a few screws. Then you can take out the nose gear rods if need be.

I had the mind to a fast taxi down the strip today. And a flight if I taxied too fast. But then the prop came loose at fast idle.
Tomorrow I´ll be... either flying like you guys or shopping for a new Harmony.
Best regards
Mikael

He one thing are you using 1 or 2 cannel to engine, i use 2, 3 and 7 on mine and linke them, then you can do engine test in the air left to right, and is true the plane turns fine if one engine stopp it is only danger during takeoff and landing on the harmony i love this plane alot.Best regards orygg

I have only got 6 channels. So my engines are linked to one channel. Got a tachometer and adjust the engines rpm to be the same at idle by turning the pushrods. Quite simple and quite basic. But I tried to get it airborne thursday evening. 2 times with collapsed front wheel.
I have placed an order for a Seagull Dual Ace. I am pretty tired of the dis-Harmony
Have fun with Yours
Mikael

It´s thursday evening again. I felt a little bored this afternoon waiting for my car to be repaired. So I glued the leaking fuel tank again. Got the nosegear improved the other day. Dismounted the rod and filed it with a square file. So now the pinion screw has got a good grip and I can use the nosegear. Before it was swirling around just as soon as I increased the speed.
Got me 2 3-blade props. They are a little shorter and don´t touch the grass.
I got it in the air. I have simply forgotten how good it feels in the air. It took 3 flights to get my heart rate down to near normal when airborne. Then I lost track of the number of flights. I flew till the plane started shaking in the air from tired fingers. Then I landed and thought: Just one more flight. That´s when one of main wheels didn´t come up. Well. I know what that means. Broken link.
A nice slow approach gear up, except the "soft" one. Shut off the engines a little above the field and did a soft landing on the exhausts.
This time it is the horn on push rod for the gear that´s broken off. But I have got an extra one down in the basement. It´s a matter of minutes before that is on.
Orygg how are things going with those air retracts? Do they look more solid. I also fly from a grass field.
Forgot my videocamera today. Had to hurry out to the field and get the plane in the air before too many "witnesses" came to see another failure to get it in the air. But luckily it came up and it flew most of the evening.
I am in Harmony now. Just a little sad that I have got other plans for the weekend.
Mikael
