My Black and Decker Versapak battery charger crapped out on me. Then it occured to me that I should be able to charge these batteries on my Dymond Super Smart. The Versapak batteries are
3.6 volt but I don't know what amp they are. Can anyone help me with what settings I should use on my Dymond to charge these? I have unused memories on the Dymond and am able to reprogram them. Also is a 100 watt 6 amp power supply stout enough to operate the Dymond Super Smart?
Thanks
Ron

If you set it for 3 cells and 1 amp of charge current, you should probably be OK. The power supply you talked about should work but if you are going to be charging flight packs in the future, you might want to get something that puts out more amps. 10 minmum. More is better depending on what you can afford.

Your 12volt supply only has to deliver enough current and a little more for the charge rate you are charging at. I have used a 3.5-amp power supply to power my Robbe Infinity and Tekin 100L's for years, works fine. You don't need a monster supply unless you're charging at very high current. Tekin's can charge at up to 9-amps, their manual states: "12volt supply must put out 3-amps or whatever current you wish to charge at", and "all batteries can be charged at up to 2 times their rated capacity without harm". I have my Tekins turned down to .5 and 1-amp and rarely move it higher. I usually charge my 2400 MAH batteries at 1-amp. For sport use charging at around .5 the packs rated capacity is fine. When I rejuvenate a pack by totally discharging it, I turn my Tekin up to 3-amps and the 3.5-amp supply has worked fine for years.

Save your money, your 6-amp supply will work fine.
