I am close to being done with the wings/stabs and getting a bit bored with all the sanding etc... I don't want to do the work required to hollow out, carve and then sand the wing/stab tips. What do you think of just capping the ends with some 1/4" or 3/8" balsa then round the edges and call it done (e.g. Extra 300 style)?

I don't want to negatively effect the flight performance.

Please don't call me lazy - I am one of the few left that still builds at my club

I just added 3/8 caps to my cuda, didn't seem to affect the
flying of the plane at all. I have been enjoying flying the cuda
for almost a year.

Nice Cuda and thanks for your input. I'm going with flat wing tips.

I rounded the tips on the 2 Cuda's I built but if I built a another I would go with flat ones.
I think they look a little nicer flat but I can't offer an opinion if they fly any different.

RE: Cuda wing tips

My tip is to put the wings on the Cuda. They fly better that way

Sorry......lame attempt at shameless humor

I'm sure you wouldn't notice the difference in flight performance between either wingtip style. Also, the rounded tips are harder to cover. Leave them flat, git'r done and go flying.

The only reason the Cuda has wingtips like that was to make it 80" and legal for IMAA events.
