Check the Ikarus Piccolo BBS. There have been HeliStar threads there even though this is not an Ikarus product.

Dave Lilley, the E-Zone editor, tells me that the product review on the WesTechnik HeliStar LH 35 that I completed recently will be in the March product reviews.

If you add up everything you will need to build it, homefly is about $15 more than Helihobby.

What is the max flight time with these. The battery supposedly lasts 20 minutes but can you actually fly it that long??

The kit instructions suggest that you not fly longer than 8 min to conserve motor life. I am getting in excess of 20 min using a 2s pack of the new Kokam 450mah High Output cells from Troy at Bishop Power Products. After a 23 min flight the main motor was at 113 deg F and the tail motor 98 deg F.

I'm not too familiar with the temps for those motors but those temps dont seem too high.

I'm debating between the little Helistar or a full blown Raptor 50. Both systems have their pluses and minuses and depends on the type of flying. Also, complete Helistar kit w/ mods is almost as expensive a base Raptor kit so I'm caught between the two. Any advice would be helpful.

THanks
