Just got though putting a great mod on my Honey Bee CP2. I have never seen anyone post a mod like this but it is a must for all you Honeybee and Blade owners.
Best of all it is cheep too. around $15 to $20.

Here goes Extend your tail boom and install Align 315 fiber Bades ($12 bucks!!)
It will Fly like a dream, you will not belive it is your old heil.

I am going to try to post some pics now.

I can't tell if it worked if not I will keep attempting unitll I get.

As you will see my heli is highly modified but this simple and very inexpencive mod is by far the best i have ever done for these small helis.

So how did you extend your tail boom, raw material or some other heli's tailboom? Will this work with stock electronics and motor? Lastly, how hard was it to get that canopy to fit? Isn't that a Trex 450 canopy? Thanks!

Hey Dragonfish,

My tail boom was extended using light weight fiberglass pushrod for gaint scale airplanes. I cut the origional tail an inch or so from the end comig out of the heli as well as the end coming out of the tail motor housing. I then got a peice of heat shrink that filled the differince in boom size and the fiberglass rod inside diamater. Then epoxyed it in place.

It will work with the stock motor and eletronics. My brother did it with his Blade CP pro and it worked fine. He used a Carbon fishing rod to extend his tail. I guess just use your imagination.

Be shure and check you Center of gravity as it will change as a result of extending the tail. Just move your battery forward to compensate.

The Canopy is a trex canpoy alright and it just snaps right on. I did have to use the rubber keepers off my HoneyBee but that is it. also it helps fix Center of gravity as well since it is a little hevier.

It flys great but i still crashed it because the wind was blowing for a few days and i got in a hurry and flew in my junky garage ran into some junk.

I had to bulid a new frame I will post pisc soon.

"Look at it this way a crash is a great time to upgrade!"

Here are some new pics of my heli rebuild after a crash. I broke the frame so I made an Aluminium frame from a couple of old transmitter cases and bolted the busted up HoneyBee CP2 Frame to it.

Mine is the Black one.

My nephew also did the Blade and tialboom ugrade as well as made a frame from Plexiglass and trex landing gear.
His is the clear one.

One added benifit of the longer blades is you can carry more weight without loosing stability.
