duct tape and nitro dont like each other

Yeah found that out the hard way just the other day. I was doing a project for school and I was driving my Nitro Rustler, when I was at home I had duct taped the batteries on the left side of the chassis by the exhaust (becasue i had lost the battery box) so i was doing some high speed runs and and I went over this bump and the battery (which i had duct taped together and the unburnt nitro fuel fomr the exhaust got on the duct tape) fell out, it went wide open into a light pole ( the only light pole in the whole damn street )
then my friend said " Hey peter (thats me) ummm i think youre battery fell out and it hit that pole overthere And in my head i was thinking well no S""" hey

Stupid duct tape

My user name "Ooops" among others I don't feel safe in posting, as I don't want to get tossed from this forum just yet! It's always "pilot error" or "you think you're a pilot error". Why do you think they call the driver of an aircraft a "pilot". That what you're supposed to do; pile-it here, pile-it there.

My solace in this sport is that when I drive one in, it hurts a lot less than being in the real thing(even if I manage to hit myself with the R/C). It's 99.5% pilot error and the .5% that isn't is thinking that it isn't.

Even when I've rode the real ones in it was pilot error. Anyone should know you shouldn't try to put an aircraft where there's several bullets or a rocket already in that airspace.

Let's face it, were're all going to keep doing this until they revoke the law of gravity. There wouldn'd be so many "hobby shops" if there wasn't the business to suppost them!

We need to learn to embrace the term "auger in" If we hit Terra Firma hard enough we'll have a hole big enough to bury it in. The only real reason I can see to keep them airborne and make cushie rendezvous with the ground is to avoid having additional restrictions placed on the hobby requiring the A/C to be biodegradable.

I'm glad to hear trees in you're neighborhood just "pop out". The one's I've encountered can run and have a gratational pull all their own! Just remember: if you can't hit the ground with style, keep it in the air.

I couldn't find my yellow flag so I used the blue one. Is that a problem?

As the pieces fall to the ground after the mid air collision, "I didn't think they were that close" or "They couldn't have hit they looked too far apart".
Unfortunately after this crash my trainer landed and the builder of the beautiful bi-plane that was being maidened by a more experienced pilot fell to the ground in too many pieces. The quotes were from me and him.....strange thing was that no-one at the field believed they hit untill I landed with a missing wheel and a 4" gap in the leading edge.
