Thanks for the helpful response. I will try disputing the charge with my credit card company. Happy to hear that, in your case at least, you got a free carb out of it.

Just to follow up. As I am checking with Visa how to dispute the charge, an email comes in from RaidenTech indicating that the order has been shipped, including a FedEx tracking number that confirms that the package is on its way.

Still, its one hell of a way to run a business.

Once again, I encourage the site to include prominently a list of reliable and unreliable or questionable on-line retailers. Perhaps this could be accomplished by simply collecting all emails pertaining to good as well as bad experiences with on-line retailers that makes everyone aware of where the risks lie. I am assuming that this doesn't already exist.

Thanks again for the helpful string of emails

Yah,

I did get the carb for free, but all in all it was a piece of junk. The company claimed they inspected all of their parts prior to shipping out but that was obviously not the case with the one that came to me. I think mud daubers (crazy little wasp looking bee thing) had built nests out of mud inside every jet and passageway, springs that were meant to be under jets were missing, and the choke knob was so tweaked that the carb was no better than the one I wanted to replace it with. It ended up taking 3-4 weeks and was a big headache.

I really research anything I buy online now and am very careful as to which companies I will give my business to. Sad that the market is such where everyone wants to get the best deal, often that idea allows these shady companies to keep doing business. Glad they finally got it shipped to you and hope it all works out.

Since Raidentech's been mentioned here, I hope this isn't a hijack:

You'll find that I have, in the past, stated that I've had good luck with Raidentech. While that still holds (generally) true, there are some serious caveats:

1. Just because the website does not report "OUT OF STOCK" does not mean they have it.
2. If it is out of stock, they will not ship it (duh) and they will not tell you about the situation. Ever.
3. They still have generally good prices, and if you order for $50, CJFREESHIPPING works nicely as does CJ10 for a 10% discount
4. If you have ANY kind of trouble with getting an order shipped, or need to replace or refund an item: good f***ing luck. They don't care a whit about customer service. I've never had any of my 8 emails to them returned over the course of two months. Not one. Never.
5. They just recently removed their 800# and replaced it with long-distance. It now hits busy more often than not. Why? Because they were scr**ing themselves out of lots of $$ making people wait on hold. So they make their customers pay for the phone call. And good luck getting in. (Note that XHeli's site now reports the same phone #)

I can no longer recommend Raidentech for anything and they have received my last order. I'm way more satisfied with the bigger guys like tower, helidirect, etc.

I don't know where this nitrostaff1/John person is who claims to represent nitroplanes, xheli and raidentech, but they are sucking big time and will not stay in business if they continue to treat customers so poorly. I get the feeling they believe customers are the problem and wish they would go away.

Unfortunatly there are FAR to many fly by night companies doing busines in our hobby. Equaly unfortunatly foeum sites like this make there money via ad money. It is unlikely that any fourm site sponsoured in such a way would keep a list of bad vendors and even if it did it would always be suspect at best.

Can't say I'm sorry about your experiance because you are doing exactly what I set out to do and stop people from buying from XHELI or any of its affiliates. And if your as PIS@#$ as I am about them you will do the same. This is an expensive enough hobby, but fun enough to continue, and there are bigger companies that have respect for us and themselfs. So good luck and fly straight

Dan

On the flip side. I ordered my new heli from Michael at USHobbysupply.com 10 pm on Friday night. It was at my place 2 pm monday! I also got a great deal and personal service. I pm'd him for about a week befoe I orderd and he helped me through my questions. I was looking at Nitroplanes and xheli, then I read some horror stories and am very glad I didn't use them...Happy flying

It wasn't that I didn't get my order on time, but it don't do no good to get an order if its not what you ordered or it don't wprk right and they don't respond to you for replacement or money back.

Good luck,
Dan

I did just noticed that they billed me 7.83$ for UPS ground shipping and are shipping it to me via USPS. The parts ordered would fit in a small shipping envelope and probably ship with 2 stamps.

Not a huge deal but thats 7$ im going to need for parts later. LOL
