What makes one better than the next? I have a Thunder-Power 1010C and a Lithium AstroFlight charger. Both of them charge the batteries at the same speed. The TP1010C has battery memory and beeps when it's done. Is that really what I paid the extra $200 for?

the AF is a 9 cell charger, the TP is 10, the TP has AC line input, the AF doesn't, the AF is a max 8A charge, the TP 10A and I'm not sure but doesn't the TP have a data port for balancing and you have to use a separate balancer with the AF??

the TP does have a data port for balancing, but you plug the charger into the balancer and then the balancer into the battery. I can still use the same balancer with the AF. My TP is 1 month old and it doesn't have an AC input... And as for the 10 cell charging and the 10Amps, I can only charge my batteries at a max of 6amps and they are 2 cells. I'm thinking I'll probably turn around and sell this charger. I figured it'd be faster or better in a way that I'd be able to use it, but I guess the charger is above me. Thanks for your input.

most people who buy the 1010C are into EDF and running 8s and 10s packs in the 5000mah range, this is where the charger earns its keep. for 2s and 3s packs a Triton is a very good and cheap charger.

Well I've already got the astroflight charger, would the Trinton charger do anything that it won't that I'd need? The only thing I wish the astroflight charger would do is turn off when it's done charging...

How long have you had the Astro? Is it the updated version? There is a chip available at their website to upgrade the 109. I installed one in mine. There is a list of what the new chip will do at the site.
