Status: offline 		I need some help programming a castle creations HV 110 for a AXI 5330-18. I was advise by Castle to set the time to low advance and soft start. I am using a Tanic 10s 1p 5000 and am currently spinning a 19-12 apc prop. When starting the motor it initially sounds like grinding noise but that goes away after a couple clicks of throttle. From 1/4 to 3/4 throttle everything sounds fine but above 3/4 throttle a similiar but louder grinding sound reappears. I assume this is a programming issue. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? thanks

Status: offline 		I limit the throttle to stop the noise at high throttle what it's doing is drawing to many amps, so just adjust the high end point at a lower setting then bring up till you start to hear the noise then back it down a couple of points,now for the low end don't use the brake not really needed anyway many have changed back to not using the brake, and most of us in this area anyhow are just running a nice idle. We're all using the CC 85 HV, with different AXI 3530 and 5320.

most times i have talked to them, large outrunners go for hard start.....

Status: offline 		I still need to do a watt meter test to see what its pulling but from my research this setup should be somewhat conservative. I'd like to think that I am not expecting too much out of the motor. I have experienced challenges programing the phoenix controllers with smaller outrunners. With the right settings those motors worked fine but it wasn't easy finding just the right settings.

Status: online 		That is one nice looking bird you have there! Where did you find it? Nice job!

Try the hard stard option and see if it still has the low end noise. I usually have to play with the settings quite a bit to get the perfect tune for each plane. Once you find the perfect spot make a disc with the curves on it. It is easy and fast to reset it up should it fail somehow or you need to use the esc in another plane with different settings.

Status: offline 		Thanks Mr.Mugen Its an AMD kit that was very under engineered. The composite work is nice but I had to redesign several aspects of the model. I'm hopeful that now it will not only look nice but also be functional. Thats assuming this power system problem gets sorted out.

Today I did a watt meter test and it pulled around 60 amps, 2500 watts and 6400rpm at full throttle. The irritating grinding noise was also present above 2000 watts. I took patternrules advice to bring down the full throttle setting on the transmitter until the noise goes away. Now max throttle is around 1900 watts but I would still like to understand what exactly is going on. Maybe I should have bought a Jeti.....

Status: offline 		Since no on else mentioned it, make sure that you have the latest version of software for the ESC (download at the CC website). I am running the 85HV and the AXI 5330/FAI and I have not had any issues with that in a long time. Good luck with your setup.

Status: online 		Hard start, low timing, low frequency,hard cut off, insensitive low voltage cutoff, manually set low voltagecutoff to 30V for 10S (don't use auto detect).

Sounds like a timing or switching frequency issue. Several of us are using the Axi 5330/F3A motor and CC 85HV with no problems at all.. also check your firmware to see if it is the most current.

Status: offline 		I was happy that patternrules advice worked but now each click of the throttle stick results in a large, non linear rpm increase. I will try those programming options UAL767 and see what happens ...Thank you

Status: offline 		i am runing the CCHV85 with an Eflite Power 110 outrunner... it made the horrible screeching noise at high throttle. I bought the Phoenix USB cable, updated the firmware, and now i have full throttle and no screech.

I also set the timing advance to low...

Status: offline 		The noise you are describing is most probably the controller losing synch with the controller. I have a 5330/28 on 12S and with a 22X13 it draws around 3600W. No bad sounds except the prop complaining. Make sure your batteries are up to it. The minimum voltage should be about 3.3V/cell.
