Ok so here goes.
I decided to take my Sonic Charger, 2300 stick pack, and Turbo in to school to show my electronics teacher.
We have adjustable power supplies there and I figured I didn't need to bring mine.
I Turned on the power supply and set it to 12.2 volts using a voltmeter.
I hooked up the charger and I had the battery charging. One of my idiot friends came over and was trying to get the two terminals to arc and I had to hit him to stop. Well after that ordeal, I forgot I had my charger hooked up and decided to see how high the power supply went. ( I had my Voltmeter hooked up the whole time.) I cranked it and it got up to ~20 volts but then the circuit breaker popped on the Power supply. I realized I still had my charger hooked up and I was hoping I hadn't fried it but when I got it home It cut off my power supply also.
I did some checks with a VOM meter and checked resistance on the input leads.
On the 200 ohm setting it reads ~300.
On the 2000 ohm setting it reads ~800.
On the 20 k ohm setting it reads ~186,000.
A VOM applys a voltage to test resistance and the lower the ohm selection the higher the voltage.
And as you can tell the more voltage the less resistance. Hence the cutting off of power supply's.
Now I'm out a charger for my Rustler and it is absolutely killing me.
I would like to know if A123 Racing repairs fried chargers?
If so, how much?
If not, do the sell refurbished one's? Also, how much?
And if all else fails, does anyone have a used charger the would be willing to sell me?
Thank you all,
Chris

P.S. Sorry 'bout the long post.

I sent the e-mail again.
If you didn't receive it my e-mail adress is "DaTwinkie405@hotmail.com" . Minus the quotation marks because the post displays it wrong otherwise.
Thanks,
Chris
