I'm looking at getting an on-road Nitro car to add to my collection of toys and I know someone selling both a Yokomo GT4 and a NTC3. Car would mostly be driven in parking lots, and raced on occasion at my LHS (again a parking lot setup).

Which car would be the best? I'm leaning twards the NTC3 since it is shaft-driven (no rocks getting into the belts), but I'm not certain if that is something I should be concerned about.

Please give me your opinions.

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

I'm planning on buying a NTC3 soon, so my vote will go for the NTC3. Let me know how you like it if you decide to buy it.

Wow! Well it depends on what model NTC3 it is. If it is the RTR version, then go with the GT4! The GT4 will have a bigger engine on it, two speed tranny, faster, and better handling. The GT4 is a much better car in my views. You can go to yokomo's site and see a video of the GT4 if you wish. The thing is real fast.

I have seen both the NTC3 RTR and the GT4, and I was much more impressed with the GT4. And about the parking lot with belts and rocks and shaft driven stuff like that: I will tell you that there are problems with shaft driven vehicles, but you will never have to worry about rocks. It is un-likely that much will happen to your belts and gears, but it could happen, and if it does, then no biggie. Just get a new gear or belt, for whatever happened.

So over-all, go with the Yokomo GT4! Have fun.

Hope this helped,
Kevin

Kevin, thanks for your comments.

The NTC3 is the kit version, so it has the 2-speed and has a Novarossi .12 pullstart in it. The GT4 is like new, only been started for break-in. I can get the GT4 cheaper ($235 vs. $275), just have to get myself past the belt issue and check to see if my LHS carries GT4 parts.

Thanks Again,
Jimmy

Is the GT4, the GT4 R-Spec? Or the GT4 Pro? Or RTR?

GT4 all the way... mine started out life as a GT4 W it has been upgraded left and right and it's perfect! it does what i want when i want. The NTC is a great working car too but i hate the torque steer problem. I race in the outlaw class (turbo motors) and that thing is a B_TC_ to drive with a torque motor.

The GT4 is well balanced and a very finely groomed machine, i actually own 3 of them 1 for sedan outlaw, the other is for GT class, and the third is a back up car which is actually for sale. The 2 keep me so bussy that the third hardly gets race time.

If your interested i have a fully modified GT4 Graphite every where and aluminum where you need it i will throw in extra parts (OEM parts removed to perform the upgrade). Asking 280 with enough parts to build a second stock GT4.

i am asking 280 shipped. i have pictures if you want...
Spare parts included
New in Bag 2spd OEM Yokomo
New In Bag Throttle link set
New In Bag Yokomo 138G tires
New In Bag RB Rear exit Exhaust manifold
OEM GT4W chassis never used
Lower suspension arms
Upper front suspension arms
Rear links
Spare Fuel tank
OEM Top deck
both side mounts

I have all the Carbonfiber parts form Penguin RC, all the aluminum parts from Yokomo and the 4mm think bottom Penguin Chassis.

This is a Rock solid performer it's set up just like my Sedan car is. This is my Sedan car back up (outlaw class) i alternate cars so each gets even miles. But actually one has a basic setup that works just about anywhere the spare car is used to fine tune the setup for that race day. But i only need 2 cars to do this now since GT class is gone. So i am stuck with 3 GT4's and 1 does not get track time now.

i am just selling the car only no radio.

if you want a radio i can include a NIB JR XR2 radio if you like, that will be an additional $50.00.

it also does not come with a motor it's just a rolling chassis. I reccomend getting a Novamega MS12T motor with this car thats all i have ran with it. I can get a new sirio motor for 150 to toss int he car too.

but that will raise the car up 200 bucks. this is basically a rolling race chassis.

send me an E-mail and i will send you pictures
