Status: offline 		I have 2 os 46 ax to breakin. Is it ok to break them in with a mac or pitts style muffler? If not how long after can I put one of those on?

Status: offline 		The type of muffler used for break-in isn't critical, you should be able to break them in with whatever kind of muffler you'd like so long as the aftermarket muffler doesn't increase reliability issues with a brand new motor. Not using the stock muffler will simply give you one more variable to have to worry about.

I agree with what Ed wrote, but it is easier to do the break-in with a non-tuned exhaust.
If you are talking about the Macs One-Piece; it is not a tuned muffler nor is it a tuned pipe (it adds no power; just less weight).

For good results, you can follow this RCU thread for a good break-in.


The description in the manual is too rich, as stated in the OS US Q&A.
