Is the new run of reciever good for gasser apications? Thanks.

Stevoh -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/1/2007 8:44:56 PM)

Yes, they sure are. You could also wait for the new "FREEDOM 9S", new for 2007.

see www.hitecrcd.com for more info.

Steve -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/1/2007 10:09:45 PM)

I went on the Hitec site and couldn't find anything on a Freedom 9S. Where did you see it?

Stevoh -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/2/2007 12:18:59 AM)

We'll have the newest catalog online in the next day or two. It will be on page 18. [;)]

aa2dd -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/2/2007 1:24:04 AM)

what is the diference between freedom 9 and the fusion 9? Will the freedom 9 work with all transmitter brands instead of "some" like the fusion 9 i bought that will not work with my Futaba 9Z? So it now just sets on the shelf gathering dust. And when I emailed Hitec asking questions about it, they never responded! I have always had excellent results with Hitec, and have around 10 RCD 3800 rcvrs plus a couple of slimlines, plus dozens of servos. Always had 150% support from Hitec ..... Never figured that Hitec would just ignore a problem!

After reading the instructions, I think you have to reset the reciever to run with the 9Z. I think it runns a little differant pulse than the 9C. Try going through the setup again with the 9Z as if the reciever was brand new.

aa2dd -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/3/2007 1:33:58 AM)

Steve .. done that and still would not work. Took the fusion 9 to a friends house and tried it with eclipse 7 and it worked ok, and also tested it with Futaba super 8 and it worked ok. I had to reset it every time to get it going, but it will NOT work with my 9z ..GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Hello Bruce,

Are you using synthesized module?

aa2dd -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/4/2007 1:38:19 AM)

Martin ... yes I have the synthesized module in my 9z. But i also have a synthesized module in my 9c. However i do not think they are the same, but not certain.

Bruce

martin salgado -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/4/2007 4:23:56 PM)

Hello Bruce,

We have noticed that the Futaba 9z with the synthesized module has had a few issues with some of our Hitec receivers. Unfortunately because of modules timing there isn't much we can do.

If you switch to a fix channel module the problem will go away.

Please note that we have noticed that it does work with the 12 and 14 channel Futaba radios.

aa2dd -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/6/2007 1:23:58 AM)

Martin ... thank you for the response. I appreciate it. I can live with that i guess. Not happy, but not much I can do about it. It WILL work with my backup tx .. the Futaba 9C. At least, I can use the rcvr with my spare tx, so all is not lost!

PS, actually, I have more Hitec receivers and servos than I was chirping about. Hitec is unbeatable for service. They have replaced busted receivers that were out of warranty for me .. can't beat that!!

again .... thanks .... I appreciate ......

Stevoh,
Sounds like the Freedom 9 is a 2.4 ghz. Is that correct?

martin salgado -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/7/2007 4:27:07 PM)

Hello Bruce,

The Fusion 9 will work with the Futaba 9c.

Hello Steve,

The Freedom 9S is not 2.4 GHz unfortunately.

Here is some information the Freedom 9S as taken from the Hitec 2007 catalog.

Standard Metric
Size (LzWxH) 2.1x1.3x0.7in /52.5x32.5x18.5mm
Weight 1.3oz 38g

-Synthesized PLL FM Dual Conversion
-Crystal Free -RF channel auto scan (72 MHz)
-Ultra Narrow Band
-Low Voltage Warning & Power Indicator
-Channel output: End block in-line

Steve -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/8/2007 2:56:28 PM)

Looks like almost the same reciever except the PLL and battery indicator light. The Fusion also has auto shift sellect and the Freedom doesn't look like it does. Is this correct?

martin salgado -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/8/2007 4:24:41 PM)

Hello Steve,

The Freedom does have auto shift select.

alfredbmor -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/14/2007 11:13:08 PM)

I have an eight channel JR 8103 currently working fine with a crystal fix module. I am just about to buy the new Fusion 9 receiver but I wish to know if someone have information regarding this product and the performance.
Also I am thinking on buying the synthesized module for my JR to switch to any 72 mhz channel available (I guess it is around 99.00 at horizon hobby) but want to know if this synthesized module works fine with the fusion 9 Receiver.
Thanks.
Alfred.

martin salgado -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/14/2007 11:37:47 PM)

Hello Alfred,

So far the only combo that we have seen a problem with our synth. receivers has been the 9Z with a synth module. We haven't seen any problems with any other radio.

Ray44 -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/24/2007 12:17:11 PM)

Just ordered my Fusion 9 yesterday 05/24, a couple of outfits still have some in stock.
It occured to me that it might not be the latest rendition and just might be old stock.
Any way of telling short of flying it???
Many Thanks,
Ray44

martin salgado -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/25/2007 4:22:42 PM)

Hello Ray,

If the shops have had them in the store for over 6 months there might be a problem. Other then that they should be fine.

Do a range check with the engine running. This will so if there is a problem with it.

Ray44 -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/25/2007 6:06:43 PM)

Martin, Yes I'm aware of that.
I was wondering if perhaps there was some identifiying marks or serial numbers that would
tell me the date it was manufactured.
Ray

martin salgado -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/25/2007 9:29:39 PM)

No nothing that you can look for. Sorry

XJet -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/26/2007 11:25:14 AM)

How come Hitec hasn't recalled all the old stock from retailers shelves?

Wouldn't this be the safest and most ethical thing to do?

Not everyone logs onto RCU so many would not be aware that an "old-stock" receiver could cost them a plane.

Is that really a good way to treat customers?

tohm -> RE: Hitec Fusion 9 reciever? (5/29/2007 4:43:57 PM)

Dear All,

There was no problem with the Fusion 9 except that we could not keep them in stock long enough to keep up with demand. Ray44, your good to go.
