Yes, they sure are. You could also wait for the new "FREEDOM 9S", new for 2007.

see www.hitecrcd.com for more info.

I went on the Hitec site and couldn't find anything on a Freedom 9S. Where did you see it?

what is the diference between freedom 9 and the fusion 9? Will the freedom 9 work with all transmitter brands instead of "some" like the fusion 9 i bought that will not work with my Futaba 9Z? So it now just sets on the shelf gathering dust. And when I emailed Hitec asking questions about it, they never responded! I have always had excellent results with Hitec, and have around 10 RCD 3800 rcvrs plus a couple of slimlines, plus dozens of servos. Always had 150% support from Hitec ..... Never figured that Hitec would just ignore a problem!

After reading the instructions, I think you have to reset the reciever to run with the 9Z. I think it runns a little differant pulse than the 9C. Try going through the setup again with the 9Z as if the reciever was brand new.

Steve .. done that and still would not work. Took the fusion 9 to a friends house and tried it with eclipse 7 and it worked ok, and also tested it with Futaba super 8 and it worked ok. I had to reset it every time to get it going, but it will NOT work with my 9z ..GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Hello Bruce,

We have noticed that the Futaba 9z with the synthesized module has had a few issues with some of our Hitec receivers. Unfortunately because of modules timing there isn't much we can do.

If you switch to a fix channel module the problem will go away.

Please note that we have noticed that it does work with the 12 and 14 channel Futaba radios.

Martin ... thank you for the response. I appreciate it. I can live with that i guess. Not happy, but not much I can do about it. It WILL work with my backup tx .. the Futaba 9C. At least, I can use the rcvr with my spare tx, so all is not lost!

PS, actually, I have more Hitec receivers and servos than I was chirping about. Hitec is unbeatable for service. They have replaced busted receivers that were out of warranty for me .. can't beat that!!

again .... thanks .... I appreciate ......

Stevoh,
Sounds like the Freedom 9 is a 2.4 ghz. Is that correct?

Looks like almost the same reciever except the PLL and battery indicator light. The Fusion also has auto shift sellect and the Freedom doesn't look like it does. Is this correct?

I have an eight channel JR 8103 currently working fine with a crystal fix module. I am just about to buy the new Fusion 9 receiver but I wish to know if someone have information regarding this product and the performance.
Also I am thinking on buying the synthesized module for my JR to switch to any 72 mhz channel available (I guess it is around 99.00 at horizon hobby) but want to know if this synthesized module works fine with the fusion 9 Receiver.
Thanks.
Alfred.
