I,m thinking the yellow Extra and the red KMD.
I,m thinking that I,ll probably pick up the airframes in Toledo and order the motors and electronics from PA directly as the shipping is free.
Thats assuming that PA doesn,t have a factory booth at Toledo, I think that last year it was the Atlanta Hobby booth that was carrying PA,s product.
Thanks for the info.
I can,t wait for the show!

I hear you on the hangar space.
I,m going to unload a couple of my gas planes so that I can concentrate on flying low and slow this season.
I figure that these types of planes will be great for doing just that.
Besides I can get out more often as I can fly them close to home.
Thanks for your advice and the vids.

Thank Aerofundan for the vids, mine are just the plane in the hands of joe everybody with some practice. Small electrics that you can fly at the drop of a hat are just the ticket for your goal, you won't believe how fast you will improve.

Very few people can answer that question, as only a handful of australians have flown it so far. it is not out yet. (the extra that is)

jeron68,

I suggest you search this thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=590900 I think I've seen people use Scorpions on the KMD.

I had the worst luck last evening. I have the Katana Md. I have around 200 flights on it and i have been having it since it was first released. I would say i am a decent pilot. Well anyway, i was coming in for a landing and it was getting dark and i misjudged the tree line tops and set it 60 feet on the top limbs. I mean seriously stuck in strong limbs. I have done this 3 times with small cheap planes, but let me tell you, it is the worst sickening feeling! It always happens when you have about 20 people watching, which is what i had by the baseball field, which were people i knew. GREAAT!!! Idot? Well, after going to Walmart and buying $50.00 worth of cane poles, duct tape, sling shot and fishing line, i got a rude awakening that this was useless because it was too lodged, and too high. After a sleepless night. I called a friend of mine who called a friend of his who had a bucket lift. I was already sick at the loss of the complete plane of over a $400.00 cost, and my wife was going to kill me, so i decided to spend the money and rent the truck. I figured i would get the plane back with no damage and no broken parts if i went this route. Well come to find out the guy with the truck said no problem this AM, so i met him there and in 5 min. he had his hands on the plane with kid gloves and handed it right to me. Let me tell you, i have to get me one of those bucket trucks!! That is an amazing machine when you need it. Then the best thing that happened he said, don`t worry about the money, no charge! The guy said he was into RC cars and said he need help to get into planes. So lucky me! I said no problem. Then i put a fresh batt. in and did a checkout, and took off. No problems!
The only thing is that my TP 2200 extreme got puffy after a charge up. It drained it to nothing all night. It seemed to work and has power but now it is too fat and doesn`t fit well in the plane. What do you guys think? Should i keep using it?

Oh wow,

in your misfortune you were really lucky to be able to mobilize a bucket truck for your plane, for free! With bonus flying buddy too!! And he thinks you are doing him a favor; poor guy's heading for a world of pain

Toss the pack man. it's pooched...

So your saying the pack is to dangerous? It still works but? What makes it swell? Gases? When i order a new one, do you think that the TP 2200 Extreme still a good batt. for the KMD? What are yall running? Also who has the best price on batteries now?. I was very lucky the only loss was the battery. My wife says i was so upset right after i planted it in the tree that i need to get out of this sport if i can`t handle the loss of a plane without having a stroke. I have been lucky in the last 8 yrs. to have only crashed 3 planes. This sport can be stressing at times when you get a stroke of bad luck or dumb fingers. I try to remind myself it is all a part of the game and if there were no risk it won`t be so darn fun!

Will a Torque 2818/900 be enough for the Katana MD? Will it be able to hover and have unlimited vertical? Thanks.
