Funny story today whilst I was doing the final assembly of my Katana MD; I put it on the balance after installing the battery and my wife drives up and takes a look. She says, "honey, notice anything interesting about those wings?" "What?" I cried. She continues, "what are those aileron servos doing on the TOP of your wings?" "You never put them there!" She then called me a huckleberry and went inside. sigh! I looked more closely and guess what? I installed the wings backwards/upside down. The strange thing is that the wing is perfectly symetrical and that it fit backwards and the guide pins and nylon screw fit perfectly too! duh! Anyway, reversed them in about 10 minutes and I was doing some test taxi stuff in my front yard. I'm sticking to the excuse that I was tired.

Should have said "It's meant to be like that honey, shows what you know" then turnaround raising your nose...

A guy did that on his seagull extra (inverted the wings) because he was making it a belly lander and didn't want to break servo gears with arms, rods and horns grabbing in the grass. I top
mounted the servos on top on my modified ultrafly extra300s also for that reason.

Does anyone know what a high pitch sqeeky sound coming from my outrunner means? It squeeks when I first start moving the throttle stick upward then ceases as the RPM increases. Any thoughts gentlemen?

flight time; 10-12 minutes of mixed flying easy.

vasmikey; the "squeek" you hear is from the electric pulses the esc sends to your motor to start it up, i think the sound is caused by some mis-timed or counter productive pulses that are inevitable starting from a dead stop or from very low rpm's. These can be pretty noisy, they use the same type of pulsing to emit programming tones out of the motor (note your esc has no beeper or speaker on board, it uses your motor as a speaker!) Cool eh!

anyway it is nothing to worry about.

8-10 minutes safe. some people say over 10 minutes, depends on how hard you fly it.

Does anyone have, or have a link to a Katana MD for G3 or 3.5? I found the mini on the Swap Pages but wanted to try the MD. Thanks.

Keep us informed about your build and how you like the plane!

Well I had wanted to finish the K-MD but alas probably wont happen today.... I ordered the CF servo arms, while I like them and they are cool and will work good, I am very frustrated with them, for the cost and such it would have been nice for them to come drilled to fit the PA servo's, or atleast with the appropriate sized drill bits to make them fit.
I LOVE the CF control horns they are great...
I hope to have the radio gear finished this evening, with only to finish up the ESC, motor, air scoops, and cowl mounting tomorrow..
