First, for the lawyers, I want to say I have no beef against Herr or Sig. It's an attractive airplane, and I want to see my friends have fun with it. I haven't built one. However, in my experience, there's a problem. All the aquastars I have observed would not take off from water. It has been reported, but I have not seen, that there are additional chines supplied with the new kits. Also I hear that they corrected the thrustline. You need 3-5 degrees UP thrust, not downthrust as my info is it was originally configured. The website photo had not been updated when I last checked. Fred Thompson modified his Aquastar and now can ROW successfully. See the pics. http://jcasey02.home.gate.net/articles.html
