i just bough a used revo 2.5 that guy has had it since 04 and probly about 3 gallons of fuel threw it. It ran fine the first 2 weeks i had it and now it has no bottom end tork when it gets warmed up. it will roll on the throtle and just screm in the top end but if you gas it and try to get power off the line nothing. just bogs. any ones input would be great.

one more question if that motor is toast i can put a 3.3 in it just fine right?

yes you can put a 3.3 in it or better an os.18tm. if it has 3 gallons through it, it is possible the engine is weak and just upgrade you would be happier. and did you try replacing the glowplug?

I know I say this a lot, but maybe check for a crack in the carb? Mine had one and I replaced the carb body...same thing happened within a day of running so I just ran the LSN a little rich to compensate and it's actually running pretty good.

That actually sounds like a worn motor, but just for kicks get it warmed up and do a pinch test and adjust your low speed needle accordingly. See what that does for you.

It sounds like you need to learn to tune, if the motor was worn out (piston and sleeve) it would run fine at a low temp (when you start it up) but when it got warm and the piston a=nd sleve expanded it would lose almost all power. I think you need to learn to tune.

brushless, there is no need to be so harsh, he is learning, he only just got the car.

with your problem, i would think that the engine is worn out, the previous owner proberly thrashed it so i wouldn't be surprised if you needed an engine rebuilt soon, my suggestion? run that little barsted as lean as it will without dieing and give it hell it, then buy either an os .18 tm or a 3.3.

I wasn't trying to be harsh, but he should do a little research, learn to tune or at least what the charicteristics (sp) of a rich low speed needle are, or maybe take the head and backplate off to have a look inside, it's way cheaper than buying a new engine. And again I wasn't trying to be harsh, just keep him from spending money if he doesn't have to.

brushless ppl like you make me stay away from this forum and dirtrider forum for my dirtbike. there are so many lil immature lil buttholes that are so quick to say do a lil research or you are stupid that it makes alot of good ppl go away and never post. if someone wants to post whats the difference between a trx 3.3 and an os.18tm we should happily post what our experiences are. i found one forum atvconnection.com where ppl aren't like that where i am and i go there more often then any other forum. and zuch i think you got a bad motor and with my personal experience i would get an os.18tm motor they are what 150 dollars now they hold an awesome tune and have the same or more power the the trx 3.3 and they are a direct drop in no add on's

I'm with ya brushless.
The way you said it may have been a bit blunt but I think that you're right on the money about the cause of his problem.

His symptoms do not sound like a worn out engine, it sounds exactly like a rich LSN

If any of that is not PC enough for ya sorry And if it makes somebody want to leave the fourm....
Sorry, see ya, have a good life.

Weez, questions like "whats the difference between a trx 3.3 and an os.18tm" are usually not asking what the difference in performance, or ease of tune, or build quality, they are asking what the differrence in the motors are, meaning they think they are the same (maybe not so far in that direction), and to answer that I could say that a 3.3 is a .20 and an tm is a .18, instead of comparing dyno sheets, or expeireince. I haven't been on this forum for about 2 months and that is mainly because of posts like this and people like you and zuch who fill up the forum with questions that could be answered with the search button, the Traxxas support line, or google. I REALLY dont want to argue or start a flame war, or anything else, and I agree with the fact that I was being blunt and harsh, but he needs to crawl before he runs, learn to tune, or at least what the charicteristics of a rich or lean LSN/HSN are, before he sends it screaming down the street.

And thanks for the support Dave.

lol guys lets try to stay on topic here. maybe someone should make a fight thread and we can take all our anger out on eachother in there...while we stay on topic on the important threads like these.

And im glad u got ur truck running right. I highly suggest u print a manual off of traxxas.com if u dont have one and read it about 4 times there is SO much information in that thing its rediculas.
