It's COBOL "Common Business Oriented Language". Sorry, was a computer programmer/analyst for almost 40 years. I used to have to wire boards for automated accounting machines and collators. Yea, I'm an old fart.

Kits and big ticket items usually don't have that much mark up. It's the little pieces that have the markup. The hobby dealers, more often than not, purchase these small items from distributers at about 60 percent of full retail.
Yes, the Illinois companies only give a few cents off. Talk to your hobby store dealer. He or she may be able to give you a break too. Remember, though, the store has to pay for shipping, employees and for overhead. I'd rather buy there when it comes to small items. These small items are really what keeps them there for you and me. My biggest beef with R/C is the other, so called "more important," priorities my wife keeps reminding me of.

Too Many Interesting Planes
Too Many Interesting Kits
Too Many Interesting Plans
Too Many New ARF's
Too Many New ARC's
Too Many New Electrics
Too Many Interesting Experiments

NOT ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETE EVERYTHING

No wonder I hate to see a day come to an end.

Freight rates to get darn near anything delivered here from USA - or anywhere else for that matter......

Also - arriving at the strip - 20 miles from home and finding you left either 'A' - Tx , 'B' - wings, or 'C' fuselage at home. I`ve done all three at different times......

It's a toss up between being bit by the building bug during flying season, being bit by the flying bug during building season, and being bit by the honey-do bug during any season!

My biggest beef in RC

1. Having been in this hobby for over 30 years and not knowing everything
2. Having 18000 hours as a professional helicopter pilot, having been in this hobby for over 30 years, and seeing 18 year old kids at the field with 11 months experience flying better than me
3. Getting older but not necessairly wiser (they still crash when you do something wrong)

Not having time to fly. When I have spare time the weather is crappy. When the weather is nice I'm working 60 hour weeks.

Ummmmmm....

I think mine have all been listed by someone already!

Especially those darn kids that show up and fly like there is no tomorrow and look at you like
" hey old man, need some advise?"

they should be seen and not heard!!

(actually, those kids helped me out a bit.... so....)

Me? I keep looking for the Enable/Halt button on my computer radio. Still can't find it.

Trees, man.

Without a doubt, trees are my biggest beef. They're like a magnet for balsa.
