Let me see, what can I say about this new WH 50cc Sukhoi..........................WOW, WHAT A RUSH
I fianally fixed the RFI problem I was having, Ignition module was the culprit, not the cap or the lead but the actual module. I ordered one of there newer modules the chrcexl, and wala no more problems. Then on suday morning I was able to finally do the maiden.
Every thing went excellent, the motor ran great and the plane flew like it was on rails. I am a very very finicky flier. I like my planes to fly like pattern ships, very true and neutral. A well built and setup IMAC plane has these attributes and I'm happy to say so does this 50 size Sukhoi. After a few circuits getting the trims just right I went for a 45 degree up line and rolled her over, She continued on that 45 degree line for a good 2-3 seconds. Then I leveled out and pulled a long and shallow 180 degree banked turn. Very little elevator was needed. This all ment the CG was really close to perfect. Knife edge needed some mixing but I just flew the sticks, Figure I would take care of that later after the CG was a definite. But wow what rudder authority, I could fly the length of the field and pull a tight up line all while in knife edge.
Up lines, Down lines, Upwright and inverted snaps all where really close to perfect. I could not find anything to complain about. Then I tried my infamous dead stick landings. I love to stretch out my downwind legs as far and shallow as possible and then turn into final and float her all the way back. If a plane has really really light wingloading you can pull this off without touching down to soon. I was able to pull off landing that had there rollouts end at the tip of my feet.( I pick this technique up from an old 3D tape I had of jason shulman). This is a big deal when dealing with Giant scale. I have test flown planes that went deadstick and you only had so much play before you ran our of speed or space to land, But planes like this sukoi are floaters and they eliminate all the fear of a dead stick landing completely.
Im hoping to get some videos this coming sunday. But all in all I've been blessed to get exactly what I was after, an affordable and capable 50 size aerobat that excells in Imac and 3d flying. I have to thank the lord JESUS CHRIST for Tom and Whild Hare for being such a blessing to me.
