Hello Bruno;
Do you think the Axi outrunner can be easily mounted to the Addiction EP fuse, or serious modification to the fuse might be required?

Regards

Weg

Hello Mariusz,

I have not tried to mount an outrunner, but I think, this should be possible.
It´s a wooden kit and the motormount should be easily to modify.
I would prefer a back mounting ( modified firewall) with radial prop holder at the axi, because the front of the fuselage is a carbon part, which is only glued approx. 1cm ( and at the motorplate) with the woooden constructed fuselage.

Bruno tell the truth ! Japanese are famous for F3A design.

I have now about 15 flights and it is realy a pleasure to fly with !
I only optimise the amplitude of the control surfaces and a very light mix rudder->elevon on one side.
Nothing else !

I received my kit on 24th of December... that is my greatest present for Christmas. So I thank you my familly and especialy my Wife, who organised the deal.

I also thank Hiro (Starcraft), who helped me so much.

Bruno I notice that you have horns on the top sides of the ailerons, are you using cables to actuate the ailerons?

Hi Rendegade
I'm not Bruno but Jérôme
Yes I use cables for every control surfaces. It is very accurate, very light and also very cheap

I use that system successfully since 1998

regards
Jérôme

Jerome, sorry about that.

They look very nice, are the horns made from fibreglass material?

Jérôme

I notice that your model is quite different to Bruno's, on your version the canopy extends all the way forward to the spinner, while Bruno has a shorter canopy and a belly pan. (What is the use of a belly pan in en electric model???)
I think your lay-out is more practical for an electric model.
I like your model a lot!
Is this a newer version of the model?
What is the weight of your model?
Do you also know the weight of your completed airframe, i.e. wings, tailplane, fuselage, canopy, undercarriage etc, but without any equipment?
I see that you used film on the wings, but what covering did you use on the fuselage, film or painted?

Kind regards,
Magne

Hi Magne
Thank you very much... I blush at the compliment !
it is exactly the same version as bruno's. I juste make some changes. It is very easy with wood pattern aircraft !!
Your right, it is more practical. the accessibility is perfect for the engine, EMC, batteries, radio, landng gear...
without belly pan, the fuselage is also stronger.

The improvements are very easy to do:
1- I glue the belly pan (epoxy) - 1st picture
2- I extend the canopy forward to the spinner. I kept the front-frame to have a good canopy-positionning
3- I didn't glue the top of the front frame on carbone - 2sd picture
4- the hook to fixe the canopy - 4th picture

about the weight:
unfortunately, I don't know it with such a precision

flight weight is 4685g and I took care at every step to reach it.
* wings and tail plane: see picture below (with plastic film, tube, servos S9650, but no horns)
* I use TP 4450mA.h (I leave the plastic protection to save 23g), Jeti Spin99, Eagle tree logger, carbone prop and carbone spiner (27g)
* my Out runner weights 610g. I use Lipo 2s-800mA.h for radio

for the wings, rudder and tail plane, I use plastic film
the fuselage is painted
