Just picked up a set of the HPI threaded aluminum shocks for my 18ss. I noticed they have these small holes on the cap. (Circled in picture). Not sure exactly what its for. Im guessing it allows the excess oil that drops out when you put the bladder on to flow through there as you tighten the cap??? Not sure, just a guess. Any clues?

well, seeing as they are both metal threaded, it might be for threadlock....just a guess though

its a bleed hole for your shock oil, when you assemble the shocks fill the oil up to the very top and when you screw the cap on, the excess oil will ooze out the hole.

Bingo! Thats it. Thanks chops1sc. I just finished building the shocks and after placing the bladder on there was excess oil dripping out and when I put the cap on all the excess oil just flowed out the small holes.
