Guys:

Are you one of the old timmers who have been tinkering with engines for years and do not need any such %%$$$ expensive torque wrenches? A recent mid-air caused a complete tear down and crock pot/anti-freez cleaning. In putting the thing back togeather, I stripped one head bolt, my first in well over 50 years of playing with these things. Since eyesight/hearing/love machine are all going to heck in a handbasket, I ordered a decent torque wrench. Now I am looking for correct torque values for the various engine fastners. Got any????

I do not have any specific torque values, but I can ask Dub.

Key to any of the engine assembly screws, is we only assemble using screwdriver-handle type allen wrenches. Not T-handle, not long L-shapes. Tighten the best you can by hand with the screwdriver wrench, and the steel fastener will have little risk of stripping the soft aluminum threads.

A few folks have chosen to include purple loctite on the screws... nothing wrong with that.

THANKS BOB:

After a search including my son who is a tool dealer, I found a good wrench at www.DarrolCady.com. Comes with a 4/40 bit and torque scale. The wrench is made in the USA, all metal and apears very good quality for about $60.00 less tha son's cost, so he says. After a few transactions with Cady through this year, I have put him on the " Good Guys" list, along with other exceptional people I have had the pleasure of meeting one way or another through the years. Yea, you and Dub are also there just cause you put up wih a crazy old man's rantings. Thanks again. Roger Menke Bro 119
