I have a HP Pavilion. It's blown out with a 1gb of ram but I am not of the graphics card. They say it requires a ATI 9600 or better but I have a ATI 9000. Does that matter. The demo looks ok on it but will it work for the actual program?

As long as you meet the minimum requirements you should be fine. I'm not sure if your ATI 9000 will be okay though. When I got the HP Pavillion a1710n, it meet the "Best" requirements except it had an onboard Nvidia chip which worked, but not as smooth as I wanted which is why I got the dedicated PCI Express card which was a Nvidia GeForce 7300 w/512. Works great. You would have to check what your computer speed is as well. I gotta tell you. Knock on wood, but I haven't had a crash yet because I'm being conservative and not hovering more than 3-4 feet and only doing what I can comfortably do on the sim. I'm sure the time I've spent on the sim has helped me tremendously. The parts on these heli's are not cheap so I'm trying to keep all my crashes on the sim if possible.

I have a Pentium 4 so I am pretty good with speed. E-Sky has a very cheap sim for $20 which shows the basics and my PC is good enouhg for that one but how good is the sim. THat's really cheap if you ask me. Sounds like a "You get what you pay for situation."

I crashed the other day but it was because I was trying to practice in the wind. Wasn't that bad of conditions but as I was bringing her back into my garage I caught a gust that sent me crashing into my file cabinet. Just need grips and blades. My confidence is really building as far as hovering. Haven't tried much forward reverse motion yet.

Grab a copy of GS 3.5 and practice practice. I have been at it for two months learning on the Axe CP but upgraded to the T-Rex 450SE recently. I absolutely love this helie. Stable as all get out and hovers so well.
I have completed FF out and back swing turns and starting on figure eights right now. I have 6-7 hours on the helie with no problems other than pre / post flight checks. Getting ready to replace the tail belt just as a pre-cautionary measure.

Fly with the Futaba T6EX and JR500T gyro with the Futaba S9650 digital tail servo. A joy to fly.

Just keep practicing all pays off.

Getting ready for another's day flying Sunday after Church.

I'm going to see if I can find the G3.5 used. $200 is a lil' too steep right now but I have been messing with the demo. Hard to control with the keyboard though. I need to use an actual radio.

If you can swing it the sim will be a great learning tool to speed you along.

The best of skills to you...Luck has nothing to do with it.
