Status: offline 		Ok, I have my name on a new Fliton Extra 260 Mini and I need to ask you guys if the system I have in mind will work. From the other build thread and Flitons info, the plane should come in between 24-26oz depending on the power system. This will be my first electric airplane and used for mostly 3D. Here's what I was thinking:

Motor: AXI 2217/16
ESC: CC35 Pheonix, or CC36 Thunderbird
Batt: TP 2100 Prolite
prop: APC 11x5.5
Servos: Futaba S3154's all around

My concern from reading the forums here is, will the digi servos overheat the bec? And what ESC is a better choice? I would like to try and get it right the first time as I have to mail order everything.
I'd like to tell you guys where I got the plane from, but I'll have to charge you for it

Status: online 		I saw them at one of my hobby stores lol they had 7 of them on the shelf so no charging here. dont know much about the axi motors as far as power goes but if I had this plane I would run a Eflight power 10 motor and 12x7 prop. the castle 35 should be able to handle 4 digital servos if i remember correctly i know my castle 45 will

Status: offline 		The Power 10 would be way overkill wouldn't it? And way too heavy.

I would imagine you would be more in the Park 450-480 class with a weight of 24-26 oz.

Another motor choice would be the HiMaxx HC3510-1100 a little more power than the Axi 2217/16 - you could get away with the Phoenix 25, but the Phoenix 30 would be playing it safe.

Are you hooked on using the digital servos? Or maybe look at the HiTec hs65hb with the karbonite gears.

Status: online 		The power ten is only 1.2 ounces more and if running a castle 35 will be no problem. I know the power of the 480 and yes it will hover but just wont have the punch out like I would like them to have. I just looked at the kit on tuesday of this week and I think it needs a bit more power than a 480 but just a tad less than the power ten, so if I had to choose E flight stuff it would be the power ten. I know it says 23-24 or so but when I read the box I thought it said 26-28 ounces.

I havent tested other brands of motors so not sure about that 35mm one your talking about but if it close to same weight then go for it. I was using my 480 on my flinton extra and it had just the right amount of punch my other 330s has the 450 and 1320 pack the 480 one has a 2100

Status: offline 		gents, go light with this plane....dont even think about a power 10. use a park 450 or 480 (at most) and 3s 1200~2100 lipos. these things need to be kept light. Ive got one on the way and a hacker a20=20l, 3s 1500 lipo waiting. if it flies like their 330 mini, i will be very happy.

Status: offline 		A buddy of mine GAVE me his 260. This is my first fully aerobatic flyer, and I have to say, it's AWESOME!! After only 3 flights I'm already doing Lomcevaks, waterfalls, and inverted flight. Still working up to the fancy stuff.

He gave it to me already to go, just put in my Rx and lipo. There's no real label on the ESC, but the motor I have in it is a Dualsky XM3530CA-14 with a 12x6 APC prop. Other than a Thunder Power 350Mamp lipo for my Hacker Reno Racer (Strega), I have 2, 2200Mamp 25c lipos, a 2150 15c, and 2, 2100 15c lipos. They get used in my 6mm Fly RC F-15 and my modified Park Zone P-51. The best way to go, so I've been told, is no bigger than a 2100. In fact I was told to use a 1500-1800 size.

I'm still learning this bird, like the fact that the main gear is WEAK and can't handle more than 2 hard bounces. The gear is getting replaced, and I'm strengthening a couple areas in the airframe. All a total of 15 minutes worth of work, and nothing in comparison to the shear 100% "fun-factor" I've gotten from this thing in just 3 flights!!

I'm curious to find and hear more posts on set ups and mods. I absolutely LOVE this bird and look forward to every chance to fly it. Plus, it just looks so darn cool.

Status: offline 		A 450 will pull this plane out of a hover, a Park 480 would nearly rip the motor box... A power 10 on this would just result in a poor flying plane and the airframe would surely fail knowing the construction of Fliton planes and what this plane was designed for. So, I would go 480 max... We are talking about the 1020KV version though. It will happily power 3D planes up to 32 ounces, but keep it sub 30 ounces and it will really haul. I think a nice floater setup would be the HAcker A20-20L of a Prolite 1320 or an Eflite 450 with an 11x47- 11x7SF prop.
