Hi all,
Is one 8711 enough for the rudder on the 102'' and if so which servo opening should I use? (front, middle or rear) I'll be running cans up front.

What does a pair of SFG's cost for the 102" Yak?

Tried to mount them on my 40% and lost one before I got to try them

Marc,
Yes 1 8711 is more than enough for the rudder.

Bob,
I want to say around $12.00 but I'm not 100% sure. Call and get a price. Have you flown the plane yet? I fly just about every day here in N.J., we should get together.

No, haven't flown it. Just got the engine a couple of days ago.
I also wound up going back to Arizona for about 4 weeks starting yesterday 08/14, so it's going to be awhile.
We camped out at our field last weekend from Friday to Sunday though.
Next time we do that, I'll let you know.

Take it easy
Bob

Reza,
I own a gen II YAK 102" and after about 200 flights my canopy is beginnig to crack at the base. Is there any warranty for this? Will the gen III canopy fit in my fuselage? Is it already available as repalcement part?
Thanks.
Reinaldo.

Hi There,

Can you fix it with CA and tri-stock? I think you can but anyway we have genIII and GenII canopies and yes GenIII canopy does work with GenII. I really don't think this is a warranty issue. Vibration and G forces will eventually cause a little crack in the canopy.

Bob_nj:

You can buy SFG direct from us. They are not expensive!

Regards,
Reza

rezagh do you think one 8711 would be ok on rudder, I had tho 8611As but one burnt up and have to buy a new one, and I also need a matchbox. I thought the 8711 would be cheaper. what do you think? I see someone posted above it would be plenty but I thought I read in the manual that 500oz was reccomended.

Hi Mike,

I replaced my two 8611a with one 8711! Simple set up and no matchbox and almost same authority! Very strong. It would be really tough to tell the difference!

Good Luck,
Reza

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask about baffeling. Is it needed or is the cowl opening on the head's enough??

Thank's again, Marc 540

Marc,
You can actually fit your hand through the opening on the cowl to activate the choke since it's right there, if you don't like that get a dowl, drill a hole in the end and glue or screw a 4-40 rod in with a 90 bend at the end to reach in with. As far as baffeling goes unless you are really pushing hard 3-d and hovering for extended periods of time you don't have to worry about it. Good luck and have fun

i use a 4-40 rod to push/pull the choke. i glued a small block of balsa in side the front of the cowl, drilled a hole through it for the rod to go through with a nyrod tube glued in to keep the 4-40 from wearing out the balsa. and i have not used any baffles and i have not had any real heat problems. do make sure you open up the bottom of the cowl as much as you can.

Thank's for the idea's guy's. I'm running the can's so the whole area of the fuse in the canister area is opened up. also the area in front of the gear is opened up so the stinger's can exit. It look's like it's at least twice the opening than the front of the cowl. Is this enough exit area or should I also open up part of the cowl?
